puzzlebeetle 8B or 8-bit puzzlebeetle. they are an 8-bit variant of the puzzlebeetles, first appearin' in white desert as obstacles rather than enemies. If a key is used on them, these dreamers will let the party pass, performin' an animation of slithering along the walls of the shrines. they are often quite comical and frequently use puns to varying degrees. they also appear in newzman's minigame called "YOU MUST TAKE LESS TIME FOR THIS!" which is played in a style very similar to a zelda 1 clone. keys must be used to unlock exits and find treasure in a dungeon, and the duration of these minigames varies. after obtainin' the item, it is stored in the inventory as either a weapon or a healin' item. these 8-bit puzzlebeetles can be found with different colours for each key, such as pink, yellow, green, 'nd purple respectively. after completin' board world on the neutral/pacifist route, these dreamers will be recruited in funky town residents appear as NPCs in chapter 4. they will assist the original puzzlebeetles in the dream spiders' nest. like other 8-bit variants, these dreamers are two-dimensional and tiny compared to the puzzlebeetles. In the frozen' route, these dreamers appear in the hidden game scarf prophecy. In this minigame, they have two colour variations: pink 'nd yellow. unlike in other routes, these dreamers can damage pixel hambo. the yellow dreamers are the most powerful 'nd immune to baseball bat variations. they can only be defeated by mystary cape, which freezes them, causin' them to die when attacked by the higher-ranked baseball bat. however, they cannot be buried in the olde graveyard for unknown reasons. they are a retro variation of puzzlebeetles, with the same appearance, except for their grayish colour. they retain the same bulgin' eyes, puzzle-like body, 'nd six legs. their entry in their dojo fighterZ card reads as follows: type of bein': dreamer. categories: 8-bit variant, monochromatic, beetle dreamer, ambiguously arachnid, puzzle beings, six-legged being. description: "dreamers who were formerly normal puzzlebeetles, until they were transformed by the shinemoon of the playa city 'nd white desert canals. this caused several dreamers to transform into pixelated, two-dimensional beings. even so, they can lead normal lives like anyone else, actin' more as security guards for various sanctuaries and pyramids in the white desert. they often share 'mething with other dreamers or those of their own kind. like real puzzlebeetles, they possess the same taxonomy 'nd biology"
