The bone beach was neither remarkable in its geology nor in its biology. The reason I had still visited it were its rather specific sea currents that had the habit of spitting out the bones of its inhabitants, like a predator that regurgitates the indigestible remains of its prey. Some of them were tiny, white specks in between the larger pieces, which suggested animals as long as trees. As I wondered how deep the bones reached into the underground, I looked out into the sea to watch out if I could spot a living relative of the large remains that littered the beach, but saw none. Either the animals were rare or their bodies traveled far on the sea currents. Or maybe they were migratory and I have come at the wrong time of the ear to see them.
