BACKSTORY: Ever since Windblaze was a filly, she's always had a unique talent for fire tricks. Her first sign upon her talent came from camping out with her Mother and Father, she was able to use her hooves to create a fire effortlessly when her Father couldn't light a fire with his own for minutes. Windblaze never understood why despite learning about her talent for fire tricks, her flank remained blank.
Windblaze was a late bloomer, not in flying but in her special talent. While she found joy in continuing to hone her craft in fire and flight, she had to admit there was something missing. Due to not having a cutiemark her entire childhood to teenhood, she was bullied by other pegasi in Cloudsdale and this led her into meeting Fluttershy. Fluttershy and Windblaze found solace in each other due to their shared experiences of bullying, this also helped Windblaze become friends with Rainbow Dash who went through similar experiences.
Windblaze eventually moved down to Ponyville to feel more in tune with the Earth, she felt she couldn't find what she was looking for if she stayed in Cloudsdale. From then on, she didn't really use her wings unless absolutely necessary.
Windblaze was able to connect with Fluttershy into adulthood due to a shared love of nature and animals. They got along well and Fluttershy allowed Windblaze to tend to the animals when needed, yet there was still no cutiemark upon her flank. What could she have been missing? Despite getting closer to Fluttershy, she only got distant with Rainbow Dash as they lost things they had in common and Windblaze didn't see her often.
Windblaze is one of the few pegasi who didn't take on the job of helping with the weather because she wanted to focus on the Everfree Forest. She was curious to learn about how nature worked differently there and why everybody spoke of it like an urban legend, even Fluttershy did. This led Windblaze into getting an interest in exploration and hiking.
As time passed, her interests led her to finding a job perfect for her that was also recommended to her by a friend she'd made on her adventures. She became a camp counselor for the Trotting Sands Camp, aimed towards fillies and the like. This is where she found she could combine all of her skills and interests into one and turn it into a fun adventure for fillies that join the camp. That ended up helping her discover her true talent: Bringing joy to others through being a camp counselor!
