Jill Valentine is one of the most recognizable characters in the Resident Evil series and was already an experienced operative before the events at the mansion.
Jill was born in the USA and embarked on a military career early on. There, she received extensive training in weapons handling, tactics, and survival skills. Her specialization in explosives handling is particularly noteworthy—she is considered a true expert in dealing with complex mechanisms and traps.
Later, she joined the elite S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) unit, based in Raccoon City. There, she was a member of Alpha Team and worked closely with her superior, Albert Wesker, and her partner, Barry Burton. She also had a close and trusting relationship with Chris Redfield.
In 1998, Jill is sent with Alpha Team to the forests surrounding Raccoon City to investigate the disappearance of Bravo Team. After a failed mission and an attack by mutated dogs, the team is forced to fly to a remote mansion – unaware that they are entering a deadly experiment by the Umbrella Corporation.
