A story of how two unlikely friends came to be. Namely, that of
poke5869’s OC Vincetta the Dragonite, and my (
Rogue’s) OC Kinai the Quivern! With their pamps Raiden and Rogue also involved >w<
I still have quite a bit to upload, and I’ve been in a mood to write more lately! So I figured I’d upload something recent for a change, and I made this story after learning about Vincetta Snap, as I thought it would be great if she and Kinai got the chance to meet ^^
Story is included below as well in the description:
Picture this: a natural, lush-green meadow surrounded by the tall trees of a tall forest. Butterflies flapping everywhere, and birds chirping (feral or not) as the sun beats down on the distinct, grassy enclave separated from the shady forest.
CLICK!
One closed shutter from a new-fangled camera later, and that picture was now eloquently captured on the hard drive of Vincetta Snap’s newest piece of equipment. From that, it only took a few clicks with the buttons on her device to browse and review the photo she’d collected of the greenery all around her.
“Ah…this beats staying inside today.”
Vincetta sighed pleasantly, her red dress swaying a bit in the gentle breeze. Her green camera hung from a gentle rope strap around her shoulder, while her high-heel boots shuffled lightly in the dirt as she hummed a simple tune.
“Definitely. You don’t even have to worry about getting sunburnt with your Multiscales.”Came a voice from beneath the Dragonite. Not-so-subtly peeking out from her dress was a diaper in the form of a Mega Zerora, pitch-black with blue lightning bolts highlighting their crinkly face.
“Oh, of course! I’m very thankful for that on a warm day like this. And it’s really breezy here, too! That helps quite a bit.”
Her diaper almost appeared to give a gesture resembling a nod…or maybe Vincetta just shook her hips slightly. Either way, Raiden was happy to be looking after the daughter of the CEO of Crinklz™, and spending time with his lovely wife on such a beautiful day. He remembered that fateful morning when Vincent Snap had hired him to protect Vincetta for the first time, and when he first caught a glimpse of her brave, confident stride and attitude…and of course, her caring personality. As cliche as it was for bodyguards to have a crush on their clients, it was a choice that he had been happy to make when he found out that Vincetta had shared the same feelings for him.
“Bet you can see a lot more too, Rai.” Vincetta teased. Raiden rolled his eyes, mentally cracking a smile.
“Please, Cetta. I’ve told you several times that your dress doesn’t bother me in the slightest.”
“Whatever you say, my protective diaper.”
Vincetta gave a few comforting pats to her husband, the pamper guardian around her waist. Rai nearly purred right then and there; it wasn’t something he did often as a stoic bodyguard (even in his current form), but it was thanks to his caring wife that he’d been able to relearn such a mannerism.
“Hmmm…I don’t like how this one turned out. Maybe a better angle…?”
The Dragonite clicked a few more buttons and prepared for another shot as the grass shook gently from the wind. A few seconds passed, and Raiden stayed silent.

“…okay, the breeze DEFINITELY threw me off a bit.”
Raiden rolled his eyes again, this time at his wearer’s obsession as with her photography. Her due diligence and commitment to her professional career at Crinklz was a big part of why the diaper company had been so successful in its advertising, and just in general. She was always the first to reply to an email, always pushing her employees to do better, and most importantly, she NEVER wanted to overburden anyone working at the company.
That being said, Raiden felt that she took her hobby of scenic photography a bit too seriously at times.
“Isn’t that natural for a photo in a place like this?”
“Not when you’ve taken photos SO much better. Plus, I’m just not feeling it on this one.”Vincetta replied as she scrolled through her previous takes, mulling over the details to pick out what she liked about them.
“You’re a lot like Vincent in that way. He’s really passionate about what he does.”
“Yeah…but he’s not around a lot, so I have to pull a lot of the weight. Which is why this shot HAS to be good, especially for today.”Vincetta proclaimed as she lined up her camera.
“I know I’m one to talk, Cetta…but your hobbies are not your job.” Raiden softly spoke to her.
“Well, it’s not like I have much else to do...”
The grass in front of her rustled, despite the fact that the wind had died down. Vincetta’s index finger lightly pressed on the “Capture” button for her camera, and the scene in front of her seemed more than opportune for what she was looking for.
“SURPRISE!”
But suddenly, without warning, a white and fluffy dragon leapt out of the brush!
“GAH…!”
[i]CLICK!
Vincetta leapt back a bit, gripping onto her camera as her finger now anxiously resting above a button with a circular orb icon; Vincetta had been keen on installing a Mega Stone within, just in case she’d have to defend herself. Raiden steeled himself (as best as one could in such a poofy form), and a few sparks crackled beneath Vincetta’s dress.
WHUMP!
“O-ow…”
…of course, the dragon had not been prepared as they were, as they had just tripped on their tail and fallen flat on the ground mid-jump. Vincetta stared at the white, feathered creature with a confused look on her face; they appeared to be a Quivern of some sort…a Pal species with a lot of similarities to the Pokemon Dragonite. And her by proxy, of course.
“…are you okay?”
The Quivern rubbed their head, slowly standing up. The tips of their feathers appeared to be colored a light, chocolatey brown, along with their eyes. Interestingly, their pamp appeared to be sentient as well, being a light blue with green tapes, and having a print of indigo hair with radiant rose-pink highlights, a similar light color that made up its own eyes.
“Y-yeah…I’m fine. Honestly…I startled myself, too…”
Vincetta took her finger off of the button on her camera. This Quivern wasn’t threatening in the slightest. Raiden kept his guard up for his wearer, but she was too dumbfounded to even know what to say.
“…sure…”
The two of them looked awkwardly at each other for a minute, neither of them saying a word. The birds chirped and a breeze blew in…it was only a matter of time before one of them spoke first.
“Okay, I’m really, really, sorry about that. I just wanted to be silly and surprise you, so I waited in the bushes and leapt out while you were taking photos! My intrusive thoughts won as soon as you said, ‘this one has to be good,’ and so I did that! Like I said, I’m really, really, really, sorry and I just wanted to…”
“Kinai!”
The Quivern stopped talking as his waist shuffled with the voice of his diaper beneath him.
“…could you take a deep breath and give her a chance to speak?”
Of course, while Raiden could understand the feminine voice of the stranger’s diaper, Vincetta was completely in the dark. The strange behavior of this Quivern suddenly starting and stopping their rambling was really starting to mess with her…
…but she inhaled gently, and then exhaled. After one deep breath, she had returned to the conversation at hand…not realizing that she had just done it in sync with the Quivern in front of her.
“It’s…it’s fine. You just startled me, that’s all. I was in the middle of taking a few photos.”
“I saw! They must have been amazing!” The Quivern exclaimed, his energy back in full swing.
“And that’s a new kind of camera, right? You must be a super amazing photographer!”
“Well, I am pretty good...”Vincetta nodded slowly.
“…but I’m still mad that you startled me.”
The Quivern in front of her drooped with sadness upon hearing that.
“Y-yeah…I did. This is my fault…” The Quivern replied gently.
“It’s okay. I forgive you.” Vincetta spoke softly.
“Now if you excuse me, I need to get back to my photoshoot.”
Vincetta walked away, leaving the Quivern to his own (silly) devices.
“That guy was weird…”
“He was talking to his diaper. It seemed to be trying to keep him out of trouble, but that clearly didn’t work.”
“…probably why he stopped talking in the middle of what he was saying.”
Vincetta checked the photo she had recently gotten. Surprisingly, the camera hadn’t shifted that much, with the landscape remaining intact instead of all blurry as she had expected. Of course, there was still a Quivern mid-leap in her frame, something she certainly didn’t want in a landscape portrait. Despite that, she had to admit that they looked pretty silly in that image…she was almost tempted to keep it.
…but, a few button presses later and the photo was marked for deletion. She preferred to keep her work space clean.
“Oh wow…it’s pretty hot out today!”
Kinai was quite a peppy dragon, soaring around on one of his days off from the daycare he worked at. It was such a sunny day today, and he couldn’t help but enjoy himself in the sky! Even if it was a bit warmer than usual.
“Yeah…there’s not much of a breeze up here.”
On his waist rested his Emotional Support Diaper, named Rogue! She had once been a dragon herself, until a friend of theirs had accidentally turned her into the form she was now. Despite the two of them looking for a way to turn her back to normal, she couldn’t deny that being a diaper was a situation she enjoyed quite a bit, especially for someone as excitable as Kinai!
“Okay, I’m landing now! Nyooooooom~”
Rogue giggled at Kinai’s impression of a descending airplane. The Quivern looked down at a number of large trees in the forest they were soaring above, then began to slowly glide down, gently flapping his wings until he touched down and landed safely on the forest floor.
“…aaaaand, we’ve landed! Thank you for flying Fluffy Dragon Airways!”
“Hehe~! You’re so silly, Kinai~” Rogue chuckled.
“Well, duhhhhhh, of course I am!” He nonchalantly replied, puffing out his chest with pride.
“Now, I saw a meadow up ahead! Why don’t we go and explore it? I bet it looks super cool!”
“Well, sure! I don’t have much of a choice in the matter, anyways.”
“What?! Of cooooouuuurse you do!!!”
Kinai lightly jogged through the shade of the gigantic trees surrounding him and his pamp.
“You might be my diaper, but you have a say in this, too!”
“I know…but I want to respect your boundaries. As you said, I am your diaper, after all.”
“Yeah! And a really cute one!” Kinai exclaimed as he gave a few affirming pats to his pamp, causing Rogue to blush.
“Awwwww…thank you, Kinai.”
“Anytime, my comfy ESD~!”
The two soon found themselves looking out at the meadow Kinai had mentioned, many butterflies gently flying around with a bunch of birds that sang a cheerful tune. Rogue was also pleasantly surprised by the serene meadow in front of them, the sight a treat for her two-dimensional eyes.
“Wow…this is pretty.”
“Yeah…”
“Oh, someone else is here as well.”
“Huh?”
Kinai turned his head. He didn’t see anyone…except a Dragonite on the other side of the clearing with a camera in her arms, taking in the scenery in her own way.
“Oh, you’re right! Hihi!”
Kinai kept her eyes locked on her and waved, but the Dragonite don’t seem to notice or even hear him from so far away.
“Uh…I don’t think she can hear or see you. She also seems to be pretty focused right now.” Rogue conveyed to ball of fluff whose waist she occupied.
“Awww…yeah.” Kinai replied.
“…which is why I’m going to surprise her!”
Like the gremlin he was, Kinai giggled mischievously and got down on all fours onto the floor of the forest, then began to crawl into the sunlight.
“Kinai, I don’t think that’s a…woooooah…!”
Rogue couldn’t finish her sentence as the Quivern gently rolled as if he trying to be stealthy. Rogue herself wasn’t very proud of it…as a bounty hunter herself, she was a lot more familiar with being subtle and stealthy. If the Dragonite wasn’t so focused, Kinai would NOT have been able to get away with this.
“Sorry…! But I really wanna do this~”Kinai whispered.
“Kinai, you’re just going to make things…”
Of course, the Quivern did not listen. And right as the Dragonite was focused on with her camera, Kinai leapt out of the clearing.
“SURPRISE!”
“GAH…!”
The Dragonite leapt back, shifting her grip on her camera, while a few sparks mysteriously flew out of the black diaper beneath her dress. But of course she wasn’t the only one unprepared…for as Kinai went to land, his left foot came down on his own tail. The Quivern would have cried out in pain…had his face not been moving so quickly towards the ground.
WHUMP!
Thankfully, Kinai himself wasn’t hurt too much thanks to his round, fluffy body. As for Rogue, it wasn’t really her first time being entirely covered by a solid surface…especially when she was covered by Kinai’s pants when he decided to get dressed up. Most of the time, he would wear his more professional daycare attire consisting of a white shirt, a blue baseball cap, and some optional blue denim to go with it. Rogue herself had gotten to know the inside of Kinai’s denim jeans very well…and with how clumsy he could be, Rogue confidently knew the surface of the ground better than most diapers her size.
“Are you okay…?”
Hearing the voice of the Dragonite he had startled, Kinai pushed himself off the ground, careful to watch his tail. He could see that she was wearing a bright red dress, which appeared to cover her pitch-black pamp, one that had an eye peeking out! Clearly she was wearing a sentient pamp like Rogue.
“Y-yeah…I’m fine. Honestly, I startled myself, too…” Kinai said with a nervous chuckle.
“…sure…” the Dragonite replied. She seemed very confused, and Kinai couldn’t really blame her for that after what he did.
A few seconds passed. The birds chirped calmly as the two of them weren’t sure what to say.
Soon, a minute had passed. He hadn’t said anything…and she didn’t know why he’d done what he had done. Kinai couldn’t take the silence anymore…he didn’t even know what he would say…and the anxiety was what caused him to throw up a vomit of language and diction:
“Okay, I’m really, really, sorry about that. I just wanted to be silly and surprise you, so I waited in the bushes and leapt out while you were taking photos!”
“Kinai…” Rogue tried to interject.
“My intrusive thoughts won as soon as you said, ‘this one has to be good,’ and so I did that! Like I said, I’m really, really, really, sorry and I just wanted to…”
“Kinai!”
The Quivern suddenly stopped when Rogue piped up. Upon looking back at the Dragonite, he could clearly see her nervous look indicated that his incoherent speech was only making her more anxious.
“…could you take a deep breath and give her a chance to speak?” Rogue calmly spoke to her wearer.
He didn’t need to be asked twice…especially when he wasn’t even sure how to fix this. And so, the Quivern gently closed his eyes and breathed in, the cool air filling his lungs before he exhaled just as gently. As his vision and clarity returned, he heard an exhale across from him…the Dragonite had been doing the same thing as he had; they had just shared a moment.
It was her that was the first to speak up.
“I-it’s fine. You just startled me, that’s all. I was in the middle of taking a few photos.”
“I saw! They must have been amazing!” Kinai exclaimed, reminded of the hobby of the fellow dragon.
He remembered a time he’d played around with a camera for a bit when he was younger! He’d zoomed around and snapped super blurry photos of himself during his flight…and despite the forced smiles of those he showed them too, those were probably some of his best photos of himself that he’d taken we he was younger. He even still had them!
“And that’s a new kind of camera, right? You must be a super amazing photographer!”
“Well, I am pretty good...”
It seemed that not even she could resist a compliment from him as well! He was truly impressed by her skill; he could never hold a camera so still like that!
“…but I’m still mad that you startled me.”
Kinai’s excitement faded, his body drooping as he snapped back to reality. The Dragonite was still very much not happy with him.
“I warned you about that.” The fluffdragon’s diaper chided.
“Y-yeah…you did. This is my fault…” Kinai replied gently.
“It’s okay. I forgive you.” the Dragonite replied, assuming that he was speaking to her.
“Now if you excuse me, I need to get back to my photoshoot.”
And the moment vanished, just like that. Kinai watched as she walked away, leaving him behind. There had been several times when his peppy attitude and chaotic energy drew others away…but this time felt different. He’d felt a connection to this Dragonite, a strange feeling that their energy just…matched. And now that potential connection was no more.
“I should have listened to you…”Kinai somberly spoke as he retreated back into the forest.
While Rogue often knew what to say in situations like these, she had nothing this time. Kinai knew what he had done, and he’d taken the words right out of her non-existent mouth. It wasn’t long before he found a smooth rock to sit down upon, the diaper soon pressed up against it as her wearer stared in the distance at the Dragonite. She seemed so rigid and diligent in her style…something that Kinai could not maintain. She definitely seemed to have an air of authority to her, and it became more apparent to him with each photo she had taken that she seemed to struggle with perfectionism. And that dress looked awfully clean, almost like that of someone with higher social status.
…did he already know her?
“What’s on your mind, Kinai? You seem unusually quiet.”
“Just…thinking. About her.”
“Oh…I see.”
“I mean…she almost reminds me of me, before I started embracing my inner child. Before I became…ME, again.”
Rogue was caught off-guard. She didn’t expect something this insightful from Kinai…he didn’t usually put too much thought into those that didn’t want to be around him.
“I need to talk to her.”
Rogue remained speechless as he flew out of the secluded trees and back into the meadow.
“Ugh! None of these are good!” Vincetta groaned, furiously deleting the last photo she had taken.
“…I think you need a break, Cetta.” Said Raiden for the third time.
“I know…! But, if I don’t get this done now, this won’t help the sales of Crinklz! You know that!”
Vincetta tried to straighten her camera, but her claws were shaking too much to get the shot she had wanted.
“But you’re off duty! Why are you trying to perfect this so much?”
“Because Crinklz has a magazine cover due by tomorrow, Rai! If I don’t get this done…the company will look really bad.”
Raiden was silent as Vincetta struggled to balance her camera for a good shot.
“And you’re just telling me this now…? Isn’t this something Vincent is doing?”
“You know him, he’s not good at following through on deadlines. I don’t think he’ll be back by tomorrow…”
Vincetta could recall vividly the last time they had a magazine cover due a week ago. She’d come in that day to a board of panicking executives concerned about where that photo would be, and where her dad was. And while Vincetta herself wasn’t worried about the money of their investors, she knew that the company itself was never in a good place when something like this happened.
So, taking the plunge, she’d managed to scrounge up a photo she had previously took that she could use for this magazine cover…and everyone had loved it. From that point on, Vincetta knew that she could be counted on to get these photos in on time. Even if a few hours after that, her dad showed up with the photos the board was looking for. And of course, now was such a time.
“Look, Cetta…you’re clearly not relaxed enough to get this photo. Please, for the love of Arceus, take a break.”
Vincetta grunted, frustrated with her endeavors…and how right her diaper husband was.
“…fine.”
Reluctantly, she shut off her camera and let it hang beneath her neck.
“I don’t even know how I’m going to get this photo, anyways…especially when I’m not trying as hard as I’d like.”
“I think you tried pretty hard.”
Vincetta looked beside her at the source of the voice and found the same Quivern before standing right next to her. She would have been startled once again…but this time she had just not been paying attention.
“I mean, you’re very good at using a camera…I can’t even stand still with one.”
“And what do YOU know about taking photos?” Vincetta quipped.
She clearly was not in the mood…and given that Kinai was very conflict-avoidant, this would have been the perfect opportunity for him to back off.
But unlike usual, Kinai persisted.
“I know that it requires a lot of creative dedication, and that it’s not easy to hold a camera still for so long. You probably know this already about me, but patience is a tough thing for me…”
Vincetta rolled her eyes.
“…and I think that’s why you’re being too hard on yourself. Patience is good, but it’s better when you can apply it to your own life, too. You deserve to be happy.”
“Listen here...”
Vincetta took a few steps towards Kinai, who sheepishly backed up a bit.
“…you don’t know a thing about my life. My father is the CEO of Crinklz, one of if not THE MOST POPULAR company in diaper sales. And despite how thankful I am for the life I’ve lived with the funding we’ve received, I’M the one who had to pull all of the weight when he’s not there!”
Kinai was at a complete loss for words at the sudden outburst of the Dragonite in front of him. He could clearly see her teary eyes and her heavy breathing…and as his own eyes began to tear up from his own fear, he could understand exactly how she felt.
“Yeah…I understand how you feel.” He calmly replied.
Vincetta only frowned and shook her head.
“How could you even BEGIN to understand that? You don’t even know me! We…we aren’t even friends.”
Her angry demeanor seemed to subtly shift, giving way to how Vincetta truly felt…and that feeling was something Kinai had been familiar with as well.
“…would you like to be?”
The question surprised both of them. Not just for Vincetta who had nearly told him off, but for Kinai after he had rudely interrupted her photoshoot.
“Why…?” Vincetta asked, not understanding why this Quivern was so persistent…but also unsure of why he seemed to relate to her so well.
“Why do you care about me so much? I’m not worth your time.”
“You’re WRONG. You’re ALWAYS worth someone’s time! You’re always worth it, PERIOD. It took me a long time to learn that lesson when I was younger…especially when I felt like I was the only one taking on my family’s stress.”
Vincetta didn’t know what to say. She swear that she’d never seen this Quivern before…and yet it was as if they’d already met.
“Thank you.”
Vincetta meant what she said, and Kinai could recognize that as well as she gave a small smile.
“What kind of family did you grow up in…?” She curiously asked.
“…middle-class. My mom and dad were a bit strict on us. Me and my brother, I mean…and my brother wasn’t very nice.”
“I see…my mom isn’t around too much, but she works in the fashion industry making outfits for Crinklz. My brothers do other things, and I don’t see them much either…I mostly just see my dad whenever he gets back from taking his photos. Well, WHEN he gets to that.”
“So…those photos are for him?”
“I practically run the business when he’s not there to do it, or just not on time.”
“Oh…you take on a lot, huh?”
“…it’s what I do.”
“I know.” Kinai said with a reassuring smile.
Vincetta nervously looked back towards him into his comforting gaze. She didn’t feel a hint of malice or distrust behind those eyes, almost as if she was staring into a clean, polished mirror.
“You…do.”
It wasn’t so much of a question as much of a realization.
“Yeah…I do.”
A realization that Kinai seemed to share, that they could relate to each other with.
“Cetta? We should probably get back with those photos before the board freaks out.”
Immediately, her eyes widened and her panic returned from Raiden’s reminder.
“Oh my Arceus, you’re right! I’m sorry…but I need to get back with these right away!”
“Oh! Good luck!” Kinai replied as Vincetta flapped her wings and began to take off…until he remembered something important he needed to say himself.
“W-wait, hold on!”
Vincetta stopped herself in midair, despite her haste to return.
“What?”
“…I never got your name…”
“Oh…! We’ve never been introduced…well, we HAVE, just…nevermind. I’m Vincetta.”
“Vincetta? That’s a nice name! Do you have a nickname, by chance? I feel like you’d be called ‘Cetta’ for short! But that’s just a guess…”
“…you got it exactly. That’s what my husband calls me.” Vincetta revealed, impressed with the Quivern’s intuition.
“OMG, I did?! And, awwwww, that’s really sweet! I’m asexual, so I don’t really have any interest in having a partner.”
Vincetta breathed a sigh of relief…because she certainly hadn’t wanted this Quivern to be crushing on her. She was very happy that her trust in him had not been in vain.
“Who’s your husband? If you don’t mind me asking.”
Vincetta looked down, making sure Kinai was watching as she gave Raiden a gentle pat on her waist.
“Well, you’d could say we’re pretty close, if you get what I’m saying.”
“I…don’t…”
“He’s my diaper.”
“OH! My gosh, that’s so adorable!!!” Kinai shouted as the pieces clicked in his brain.
“My name is Kinai, and my diaper’s name is Rogue! She was my best friend before she became my diaper, and she’s still my bestie now!”
Kinai followed up his introduction with a few gentle pats on Rogue’s face. Vincetta couldn’t help but chuckle at Kinai’s enthusiasm.
“It’s nice to meet you, Rogue.” Raiden spoke to the fellow pamp.
“I-it’s nice to meet you too, Raiden…!” Rogue replied as Kinai’s claws gently smushed against her face.
“Well…it was very nice to meet you, Vincetta! And I’m sorry you didn’t get the photo you wanted…” Kinai said.
“Yeah…I’m sure one of these could be fine, though…”
It was then that an idea crossed the photographer’s mind.
“Actually…”
She flew down and slid her camera and its strap off her shoulders.
“…why don’t you give it a shot?”
Kinai was taken aback, going completely silent for a moment.
“A-are you sure…?! Th-that’s an expensive camera…! Even with how I’m…?”
“I think I can trust you.”
Those words flew out of Vincetta’s mouth before she could even stop them…and she WANTED to trust Kinai, even if it meant handing over her hard-to-replace camera to a hyperactive goober like he was.
And for Kinai…he decided to repay her trust, taking the camera from her and slinging it on his shoulders. Vincetta had to admit that it looked good on him.
“O-okay…what button is…?”
“It’s on the top left, you should see a camera icon on the button.”
Following her instructions, Kinai found the button.
“Take whatever photo you’d like. But first…”
Vincetta reached over him and adjusted the zoom on the camera to make sure it was to her liking. Raiden sighed at his wife’s touchiness as Kinai just stood there.
“Are you going to let him take the photo or not?”
“Okay, there we go! Now go ahead.” Vincetta said as she stepped back.
Obviously, she didn’t expect a good photo from Kinai. She simply thought that after hearing about him messing around with a camera previously that she could allow him the chance to use something a bit more professional. Kinai himself felt nervous about this…he dint want to rapidly snap photos on Vincetta’s camera, nor was he good at standing still for a perfect shot!
And so, as he did when he’d first met Vincetta…
…he gently breathed in…
…and calmly breathed out.
He focused on the gentle, warm wind and the serene meadow in front of him, taking in the smells, the sights, the sounds…and when he fully understood it all…
CLICK!
As the photo showed up on screen, Kinai slid off the strap and handed the camera back to Vincetta.
“Here…what do you think?”
Vincetta was surprised…taken aback, even. Not just at Kinai’s calmness, but by what she was seeing on her camera that the Quivern had just captured.
“…it’s perfect.”
Kinai had to do a double take at what she had just said.
“H-huh…?! I don’t even…!”
“I know…! But I thought an extra set of claws would help and you…you nailed it…!”
“I’m not usually this calm, I swear…!”
As the two of them went back and forth about the amazing shot Kinai had somehow managed to take, Raiden looked forward at Rogue. She looked back at him.
“Did you know about this…?”
“N-no. This is a first for even me…”
The two dragons above them were quickly wrapping up their back-and-forth, prompting both diapers to hold the rest of their conversation for later.
“I…I think I know what I was doing wrong, then. Kinai…thank you.”
The Quivern blushed, rubbing the back of his head.
“Awwww, you’re welcome! I…I honestly don’t know how I did that…I’m not even a good photographer…!”
“But you are. And that’s what matters.” Vincetta said with a smile.
“You really mean that…?”
“Yes! And you’ve saved me a lot of time, too.” Vincetta flapped her wings and began to take off. For real, this time.
“I have to go now. But we’ll see each other again, okay? Promise me?”
“Yeah! Yeah, I promise! I’d love to take more photos with you again, Vincetta!”
“So would I, Kinai. And thank you again!”
The two of them waved to each other before the Dragonite took off, flying off into the sky with Extreme Speed. When she was out of sight, Kinai felt himself shaking once again with an excitement that he hadn’t felt in so long.
“OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSH, OHMYGOSSSSSHHHHH…!!!!!”
“Someone’s excited~” Rogue said.
“I KNOWWWW!!! I’M A PHOTOGRAPHER AND I MADE A NEW FRIENNNNNNDDDDDD!!!”
Kinai began to do a victory dance, shaking his poofy butt around with a happy blush on his face.
“I took a really good photooooo for a really good phtographerrrrrrrr~!!!!!”
As Kinai flapped his wings and darted off into sky as well, his giddy excitement provided him with what felt to be a wellspring of happiness. And temporary or not, he was going to cherish it along with his bond with Vincetta.
The executive floor for Crinklz was abuzz, per the usual. Of course, Vincetta certainly wasn’t much different, dodging and weaving through the desks, office chairs, and the executives themselves before knocking on the door to the board room. Despite the chaos, the door opened promptly, a Druddigon in a business suit on the other end with some business pants covering the diaper-shaped bulge beneath it.
“Vincetta! Nice to see you again.” She said as she shook the Dragonite’s claw.
“Mandie! Nice to see you, too! I’ve got the photos!”Vincetta replied, pleasantly surprised to see a familiar face.
“Oh, you did? Heh, we knew you’d clutch up, girl! Although…”
Mandie sidestepped out of the doorway, allowing Vincetta to see a few more creatures in suits that made up the board, including a Mega Lucario Z by the name of Howard, wearing a Mewpamp named Andy around his waist. But standing right next to him was a familiar Dragonite-Flygon hybrid, one covered in a thick, Latios diaper with a more traditional camera around his neck.
Vincent was back, and for once had returned on schedule with some photos he’d taken taped onto the whiteboard in front of them.
“Vincetta! You’re back!” The Flygonite exclaimed. He was clearly very excited to see Vincetta again after so long, ready to embrace his Dragonite daughter with a hug.
“DAD.” Vincetta flatly responded.
Vincent stopped, and the executives in the room fell to a hush. They seemed to understand the situation well enough to quietly leave the room.
“Where have you been?! You haven’t been getting photos for the company ad shoots for two weeks in a row now!”
“I’m sorry. You know that I have a lot of trouble managing my time, especially when there’s a lot to photograph, honey.”
“You’re supposed to be the CEO, and you’ve been leaving us out to dry! I’ve had to pick up your slack for A MONTH, now!”
“To be honest, the company’s seen worse.”
Vincetta turned around, seeing Mandie eating a sandwich. Though one ferocious side-eye was all it took to get her message across to the chill Druddigon, who promptly left.
“Anyways, I got some wonderful photos from my trip to Lental, many which will last for a few weeks. And don’t worry, I’ll try to be better at getting them in on time.”
Vincetta sighed and nodded her head in disapproval.
“You said that last time, dad…”
“How would I know that Troy would break his ankle?”
“That’s not what I’m saying. I just wish I could trust you a bit more.”
“…you’re right.”
The board room sat in silence. Not even Howard, the head of the bodyguards at Crinklz spoke up.
“That’s why I’ve been thinking about something, Vincetta. For Crinklz, and for you. I don’t want to stop working here, nor do I want to give up the company, but it’s tiring for me to run it…and it’s taken its toll on me. So that’s why I wanted to ask…I know how passionate you are about management here, so why don’t you become the new CEO of Crinklz?”
“NO.” Vincetta firmly rebuked. Her dad seemed surprised by this rejection.
“Not even General Operations Manager?”
“DAD!” She yelled. Vincent stopped.
“…dad, I don’t think I can handle this.”
“…I understand. I just…I want what’s best for you. And I’ll try and be more committed to my role.”
“Be more committed to US, Dad.” I only see you when you return to hand in your photos or chat with colleagues here. We met up with Mom and Lance when Troy broke his ankle, and you didn’t stay for very long.”
Vincent was silent. He truly had no excuses for what he’d been doing.
“I think we need a family vacation. And not just the two of us, but ALL of us. With the photos We’ve gotten, we certainly have the time to do it.”
“Would that included me as well?” Howard spoke up from the back of the room.
“Of course! We’ll need a bit of protection just in case.” Vincent piped up.
“Thanks, Dad…” Vincetta gently replied.
“Of course, Vincetta! You’re right, I’ve been too involved in work and my photography. We should all spend some more time together!”
Vincetta cracked a smile.
“Heh…yeah.”
“Now, what kind of photos did you take?”
“…not many I’m proud of.”
Vincent appeared confused. Vincetta cycled through her photos, the Flygonite nodding in approval and smiling at her handiwork.
“Vincetta, these are amazing! How are you not proud of them?”
“They all look generic. Except for maybe this one.”
She scrolled to the photo that she’d let Kinai take.
“Oooh, this one is gorgeous! May I see?”
Vincetta nodded, and Vincent took the camera from her claws as he got a closer look at the photo.
“I agree, this one definitely looks the best out of them! You SHOULD be proud of it!”
“I didn’t take it.”
Vincent stopped at stared at her. He knew how possessive his daughter was with her camera as he handed it back to her.
“What? Then who did?”
“…a friend.”
Vincent’s eyes lit up in excitement, even as his daughter avoided eye contact.
“You made a new friend?!”
“Y-yeah…I did. Please, don’t make a big deal out of it…”
“But it is! You’re very particular about who you talk with, let alone when it comes to your CAMERA! This is a big deal for me! Honey, I’m so proud of you!”
“Th-thanks, Dad…” Vincetta replied quietly.
“Now, who are they, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“Actually, now that you mention it…”
Vincetta scrolled through her photos until she came to a folder that said “Recently Deleted.” Pressing a view buttons, it wasn’t long before the photo that she’d marked for deletion was recovered.
“…this is him.”
She clicked a few buttons to scroll to it and showed her dad the photo of Kinai when he’d first startled her, leaping out of the grass.
“Hahahahahaha…wait, I know that Quivern! Brown feathers and eyes, with that dragonpamp…yeah, that’s him!”
“Huh? You know Kinai?”
“Of course! I took a couple photos of him a while back with his daycare for a promotional video! He’s quite the chipper fellow!”
“Yeah, he’s…very silly.”
“I think I tried introducing you to him once, but you weren’t interested.”
“Dad, I’m married now. And I HAVE friends.”Vincetta pointed to Raiden as she said that.
“I mean OUTSIDE of Crinklz! Everyone you’ve known is part of this company! Honestly, I’m glad you’re finally exploring new creatures a bit more.”
Vincetta didn’t have a reply. She (unfortunately) knew that her dad was right when it came to that.
Vincent checked his watch, then winced at his daughter.
“Well…I do unfortunately need to head out. I have an interview scheduled in an hour, and I don’t want to miss it!”
“What?! Dad, what did we JUST talk about?!”
“I know, but I planned this in advance! Send me some of your ideas and I’ll make sure to check on them later, okay? I’d love to help plan this family trip with you! I love you, honey!”
And just like that, Vincent was gone and the board room returned to silence…just like it usually did when he left.
“I’m sorry, Vincetta. Vincent might be a prodigy, but…if I might be frank, he’s awfully irresponsible at times.” Howard spoke.
“And WE’RE the ones that have to pick up his slack. It’s so annoying…” Andy said, crinkling around Howard’s waist.
“Yeah…he’s hard to get along with when he’s like this. But know that I will always be there for you, Cetta.”Raiden added.
“Thanks, Rai…” Vincetta gave a few affirming pats to her pamp.
“…and thank you, Howard and Andy for sticking out for me. All of you are truly like family to me.”
Howard smiled and blushed, unable to hold his serious demeanor with such a heartfelt compliment.
“Thank you, Vincetta…I tried my best to care for you when he wasn’t able to, and I will continue to do that now. You’ll always have me, Andy, and Raiden by your side.”
“Yeah…”
Vincetta scrolls through her camera to see the photo of Kinai.
“…and I have a new friend, too.”

poke5869’s OC Vincetta the Dragonite, and my (
Rogue’s) OC Kinai the Quivern! With their pamps Raiden and Rogue also involved >w<I still have quite a bit to upload, and I’ve been in a mood to write more lately! So I figured I’d upload something recent for a change, and I made this story after learning about Vincetta Snap, as I thought it would be great if she and Kinai got the chance to meet ^^
Story is included below as well in the description:
Impromptu Photo-Op
CLICK![i]
“…okay, the breeze DEFINITELY threw me off a bit.”
