You got the best! It is more expensive than stainless steel mostly because it is a real bitch to machine, but it is great for biocompatibility. Some people develop a nickel allergy from stainless steel implants which requires their removal.

Don't go without food. That will reduce your resistance to infectious diseases. Going without food is different from going without expensive or preferred foods. For example, lentil soup (made from the dried beans) is dirt cheap to make, healthy, but boring. I ate a lot of that when I was a student. Herbs and spices help with the boring part.
