I was feeling in the mood of drawing more neolithic critters, so you can expect a few more in the next days. :P
I have no intention of doing anything with these characters, it was mainly to have fun with the whole prehistoric aesthetic.
Anyway, this guy is a European Cheetah, also known as the Giant Cheetah, which is why I decided to give him more elongated spots (totally made up on my part btw). These animals were pretty much lion-sized, so this guy would absolutely tower over some normal African cheets :P
He's either a chief or an important warrior judging by the massive decorative stone axe he carries around, that's a status symbol.
(I should draw some small cheetahs fawning over him) :P

So I'm curious about your world. I'm pretty sure you addressed it before, but where/how does magic/deities interact with the world or is it more like our Earth in that neither is real but people think they are?
Also, is it a one-to-one correspondence with Earth in terms of geography or do things vary in places (e.g. there being an "Atlantis" in the Atlantic but not necessarily as described or Zealandia being above the waves or so on)?

I have two settings, one is the medieval/renaissance one where most of my characters live, and that one has no magic or deities. The characters themselves believe in their existence though! The world is kinda based on Eurasia + Africa, but with different shapes.
This setting here (copper / bronze age) has magic, spirits and those things, but not sure if actual gods exist. It's a new setting so I have to decide how things work and how the world looks like! Not sure if it look just like earth or something similar enough but still different.

Ah! Okay
Well, the difference between spirits and actual deities can be a bit...ill-defined. Generally, deities seem to have a sort of scale of worship but this doesn't necessarily translate into a scale of importance, especially with deities of Death or the Underworld who tend to be more feared than worshiped. ^^;

I guess he kinda does, and it's pretty cool considering most of the items are somewhat based on real finds from Europe or the Levant! It's interesting how some traditions like piercings and lip plugs appear in so many places over the centuries! :D
(except that bracer thing on his wrist, that one is 100% made up)

Isn't it interesting that African animals that lived in Europe and North America during the Ice Ages were significantly larger than their African counterparts. The American lion was 25+% bigger than African lions, American cheetahs were about 25+% bigger than African cheetahs, not to mention the rhinos, elephants (mammoths and mastodons), and hyenas were all noticeably bigger than their African cousins.
Ever since I saw a video of prehistoric North American animals and saw the North American lion and the American cheetah mentioned (and their size), I've been curious about it. Heck, even beavers in North America grew to be 2 to 3 times the size of normal beavers during those times.
