Trasfondo
Antes de convertirse en héroe, Ryan Baker era todo lo contrario a lo que la Sociedad de Héroes buscaba. Un chico conflictivo e impulsivo. Constantemente metido en problemas.
Las peleas eran parte de su rutina. Una forma de desahogar frustraciones que ni él mismo entendía del todo. Hasta que un día, ocurrió

Durante una pelea más, algo en su interior despertó. Su factor esper se activó. Lo que debía ser otro enfrentamiento más terminó en tragedia: uno de los chicos resultó gravemente herido por la fuerza descontrolada de su golpe.
El impacto emocional fue inmediato. Aterrorizado solo pensó en huir. Sin rumbo o algún plan. Solo queriendo escapar de lo que había hecho.

Fue entonces cuando fue encontrado por la súper heroína Radiance
La heroína no lo enfrentó con fuerza sino con palabras. Le hizo ver que huir no iba a cambiar lo ocurrido. Que lo que definía a una persona no era su error sino lo que hacía después.
Tras esa conversación, tomó la decisión de entregarse. Dadas las circunstancias, se le ofreció una alternativa. En lugar de ser enviado a una correccional, sería puesto bajo probación y vigilancia, quedando bajo la tutela de la Sociedad de Héroes.
Allí recibiría educación, entrenamiento y una elección. Si lo deseaba una vez que cumplirá la mayoría de edad, solo tenía que registrarse como meta animal y vivir una vida normal bajo supervisión. O si lo deseaba se le daría la opción de enlistarse como héroe.
Al principio, dudó. No se veía a sí mismo como un héroe. Pero con el tiempo, algo comenzó a cambiar. El entrenamiento le dio disciplina. La guía le dio dirección. Y, poco a poco, empezó a entender que su fuerza no tenía que ser destrucción también podía usarla para proteger a los demás.
Años después, se graduó de la academia. Ya no era el chico que peleaba por impulso.Ahora lo hacía por una razón...

Background
Before becoming a hero, Ryan Baker was the complete opposite of what the Hero Society was looking for. A troubled and impulsive boy, constantly getting into trouble. Fighting was part of his routine. A way to vent frustrations he didn't fully understand himself. Until one day, it happened.

During yet another fight, something inside him awakened. His esper factor activated. What should have been just another confrontation ended in tragedy: one of the boys was seriously injured by the uncontrolled force of his blow.

The emotional impact was immediate. Terrified, he only thought of running away. Without direction or any plan. Just wanting to escape what he had done.

It was then that he was found by the superhero Radiance. The heroine didn't confront him with force, but with words. She made him see that running away wouldn't change what had happened. That what defined a person wasn't their mistake, but what they did afterward.

After that conversation, he made the decision to turn himself in. Given the circumstances, he was offered an alternative. Instead of being sent to a juvenile detention center, he would be placed on probation and supervision, under the guardianship of the Hero Society.

There he would receive education, training, and a choice. If he wished, once he came of age, he only had to register as a meta-animal and live a normal life under supervision. Or, if he wished, he would be given the option to enlist as a hero.

At first, he hesitated. He didn't see himself as a hero. But over time, something began to change. The training gave him discipline. The guidance gave him direction. And, little by little, he began to understand that his strength didn't have to be destructive; he could also use it to protect others.

Years later, he graduated from the academy. He was no longer the boy who fought impulsively. Now he did it for a reason...
