ToonThick XPT 2024 (2026 remaster)
To mark 44 years of the XPT (Express Passenger Train), I've made improvements to my 2024 drawing of an XPT power car!
The "ToonThick XPT" branding on the side of the power car which took the place of the "InterCity XPT" branding in the original 2024 drawing, has been updated to accommodate the "New ToonThick" rebranding which occurred over the past few months. "ToonThick XPT" is now written in the Riffic font (like the present-day ToonThick wordmark). The New ToonThick device which was introduced in December last year, replaces the old ToonThick device which was retired at the same time.
Other updates include the addition of the Comeng logo below the side door towards the front of the power car (the Comeng plate was originally present on the XPT power car in the "State Rail" and "Countrylink 1989" liveries, as well as other passenger rollingstock made by Comeng in New South Wales and across Australia). Seb, the mascot of ToonThick that was in the original 2024 drawing has been removed, while the furry conductor and furry engineer driving the train remain. Finally, the background has been replaced, now being a photo sourced from the internet at 50% opacity. In fact, it is the same photo I used as reference for the 2024 XPT drawing.
