This isn't a sub-species but a group of Betalli that chose thousands of years ago to live in the desert regions of Betallen-Ome; there is also a cold weather form.
This desert Betalli is different from his forest and plain dwelling brethren in that his limbs are shorter as well as his tail, his ears are longer and his torso is slightly elongated and thinner. Everything else is the same, but his kind tend to wear more nature derived decorations like stones, claws and feathers. Also, the desert variety tend to add circles and dots to their tail designs to denote tribes/families.
