Watch was getting sick of walking from place to place, so he hotwired a car from the water treatment plant’s parking lot and drove up to the factory himself. The road he took led along the river, and the entry was going over the river. Just from the bridge, he could see pipes pouring fluids into the river. He killed the car in the parking lot, left his bags in the passenger seat, and then walked inside. After a banter round with the receptionist, he finally got to talk with the man in charge. A horse led him down a hall, and then over to an office that overlooked the parking lot.
“Thanks for taking the time to talk with me.” Watch said, “If you don’t mind, I’d rather cut to the chase and settle things.”
“Alright, so how may I help you.” The horse said, and then he interrupted, “If you’re here about the water, I’ll tell you what I’ve told everyone…”
Watch leaned back a bit, knowing how prepared he was about to say.
“...The fertilizers disposed of are perfectly filtered down at the plant.” The horse continued, “The idea that healthy drinking water being different is just something people have to be open minded about.”
And then he lost the wolf there, he had to at least try. “Trust me, you’re preaching to the converter here, but a middle ground has to be met somewhere.” Watch said, “I tell you, people don’t want their water muddy, they want it crystal clear. If you can’t find a way to keep back that color, people are going to-”
“Buy some bottled water.” The horse said, “Easier solution for everyone. Heck, I’ve got a deal with a company out of state to ship more here.”
The nerve on this stallion turned Watch’s ears back, but he forced them forward, trying to keep his posture good. “Are you kidding me? You’re buying someone else’s water for this problem, and not just selling the product yourself?”
“Well, I would, but I still need to save up for that next loan.”
“Why wait? Did you know plastic is harder to sell than water?” Watch said, “Shape and designs, and the plastic itself costs something, but once you have that you can sell any drink.” He started to smirk, “Just take a look at them, they're out in my car, just out in the lot. If you buy the designs off me, I get my pay out, and you get your water bottles.”
The horse smirked, “Lead the way, good man.”
Watch walked with the horse out to the parking lot, back to the hot car. Watch popped the trunk, and led him around back, “They’re stuffed in toward the back, but you’ll see them if you’re careful.” The moment the horse leaned in, he slammed the top of the trunk on the horse, and then again, and then flipped him into the back of the trunk, from there. He drove off into the woods.
