I've always said that Red's Grandma was The Big Bad Wolf, and now I'm extending that to Red's Grandma being the one who was huffin', puffin' and blowing the houses down of The Three Little Pigs.

Unbeknownst to Lil’ Red at the time, the incident with the Big Bad Wolf at her grandmother’s house left her with a small wound. But it was enough, for the next time the moon rose above the horizon as a full, gleaming disc of white, she changed…..

Plot twist: Grandma was the original Red Riding Hood. That Wolf? Grandpa, though that cad didn't live long enough to see this Red's mother. Perrault (who was the guy to add the red riding hood) did warn his readers of the dangers of getting into bed with a Wolf.

Also, some early versions of the tale, pre-Perrault didn't have the girl meet a regular wolf but actually encounter a werewolf. (There was a big panic about werewolves in those days.)
