Meet the Grass Gym Leader

The sun rises high over the battle arena, it's central platform surrounded by the overgrown ruins of the ancient temple complex. Raised amphitheater seats surround you in a half circle, some spectators having filed in to watch the match. The branches of the great tree growing opposite the stands sway in the breeze, multitudes of windchimes raising a gentle cacophony.
"This is the battle arena? I thought this was an archeological site." All the gym trainers you fought till now had been university students or archeologists. Why would they fight here you wonder. You hear foot steps ascending the other side of the ancient arena's stairs as the crowd goes silent.
"Did you know this spot dates back to before even the temples? The ancient people here really loved their battles. Be it pokemon, philosophy, or athletic prowess, this place has seen it all."
The gym leader appears on the raised platform. From a distance, he looks calm, collected, as if he wasn't about to fight another challenger. You tensed up, got into your preferred stance, and he kept talking.
"That's why I chose this place for my gym. I'm the last stop before you hit the pokemon league, no? So," he says as he readies his pokeball, looking over his glasses to fix you with a piercing glare despite his calm demeanor, "let's make history today, shall we?"
Here we have Cyrus as a Gym leader, a prequel to his time as a Pokemon professor (seen here https://www.furaffinity.net/view/64542770/). If you couldn't tell, he's primarily a grass type gym leader who I wanted to have be the 8th gym leader of the league he's in, since grass is usually fairly early in a run. His whole schtick is he does double battles with a full team of 6, each paired to work together in a specific way. He arena, as you probably guessed, is some old, Classical Greek inspired temple and ampitheater ruins, mostly because I thought it'd be really fun and thematic! He's no archeologist himself, but what better way to respect old traditions than to use the ancient pokemon battle site for, well, pokemon battles?
