While not particularly keen, Smell is still the strongest sense Sküpoi have and the most important, they use it for identification and Sküpoi produce a variety of pheromones. In normal doses, these don’t really force a behaviour in Sküpoi, mostly just a suggestion. The antennas many Sküpoi species have are meant to detect these pheromones.
Their teeth are made of metal just like their shell and due to extreme environmental pollution in the past, most heavy metals that can’t be disposed as waste are stored in shell to keep them from poisoning the body, or stored in the bones with a protective layer. Also select elements are used to build the electronic components Sküpoi have like the radio antennas on the back of thier heads. These are somewhat recessive used mostly for expressions. Most Flesh machines have ways of detecting ionizing radiation, thats because of a general disregard by the ancients and deterioration caused by time of nuclear technology, Leading to dangerous amounts of radiation and in lots of areas the dose could be much higher than what organisms are used to. in Sküpoi there is an organ below their nasal cavity that functions similar to a Geiger counter, with two oppositely charged areas and an area contains a gas that would be ionized by radiation where it can be perceived by Sküpoi, outside the body they can only detect high amounts of beta and gamma radiation (because alpha cannot penetrate their outer layers) but in the roof of their mouth, the skin is thin enough to allow alpha radiation to be perceived in order to avoid ingesting something emitting alpha radiation (like a speck of dust that was once a fuel rod) where it could cause damage.
