Short version is I created a couple of new dragons for Skyrim because the neutral-good ones are under-represented. Yuvonlaan here is one I'm particularly fond of because he's one of the most put-upon. I wrote a short story about him here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/64359035/ ...but I don't know how much sense it makes outside the context of Skyrim.
True. However, there's a lot of magic going on in TES. It's apparently canon that the dov use their own innate magic to fly, and even if that wasn't the case, there's ways to enchant things to reduce weight.
EDIT: Either way, these guys can grab a mammoth and fly it off to their lair to eat. If they can do that, a few hunks of metal isn't going to slow them down...
