But seriously though, I've been thinking lately. But probably Dead Space should have ended with part 2. The 3rd one was a mistake, and the more I analyze the plot/other stuff, the more obvious the thought becomes. It's probably very important to know when to stop. When a franchise continues for a long time, everything inevitably goes to shit. As a rule.

I can generally agree with that! But still, it seems to me the story would have been... more complete if it had ended with the second part? And there would have been a certain mystique, an interpretation of everything that happened. I understand the concept of the third part, and... I don't know, you would have needed immense talent to keep the game world and lore from collapsing under their own weight with all those new elements. Given EA's pressure and the direction they were pushing, it was all predetermined
I would have made sure that Isaac's story ended in the second part, it was possible to cut various prequels or a new story where the old characters are secondary or just mentioned in the "note", although this is all nonsense, because it is already the third part and no one is going to restart it or the whole series (
Dead Space 3 had some neat concepts, like the Tau Volantis aliens and the Brethren Moons, but the ball was dropped so hard on the execution. I don't even know how many of the game's problems were due to EA's meddling or due to poor decisions on Visceral's part. It was such a mediocre ending to such a cool franchise.
I generally agree. They were interesting concepts, but you would have needed immense talent to keep it from collapsing under its own weight and to execute it well. Given EA's pressure, weeeeeeeeeell. I think the developers had a chance, though who knows. I just get the feeling that the 3rd part was created under a certain pressure LIKE WE NEED A SEQUEL, and that was really felt to some extent. That the developers didn't really know how to make it work well. And yeah, it's just the worst ending for such a franchise
A mistake? A MISTAKE???? That's a fucking understatement XD. The 3rd iteration of a lot of game series are absolute garbage. FEAR 3, Parasite Eve 3, Dead Space 3, Lost planet 3, Doom 3...Id say Baldur's Gate 3 but i might get shot XD. Doesnt help if the 3rd part turns into a coop game like FEAR.
I agree absolutely with all of them except Baldur's Gate 3 because I'm not familiar with parts 1 and 2 to know how valid that comparison is. But fuck yeah. Add Killing Floor 3 to the list! Although ARMA3... THAT'S ONE OF THE FEW GOOD EXAMPLES XD well if you don't count the early access and lack of content for a long time
I actually liked the 3rd Game but its the same as with the Alien Franchise. Extremly good first Part (Remake of it is one of the best), a more Action focused 2nd Part ... and a 3rd one with an Identity problem. There are some neat parts in the 3rd like the whole Colonial Fleet Debris and Story behind it, i just like "old rusted shit" you could say. The "build your own weapon" was also kind of neat and the Brethren moon a really good "end goal" for the Necromorphs. Its just EVERYTHING in between these good parts (like Coop) ist just so ABYSMAL and against everything the previous parts did right.
