This piece is dedicated to my dear friend,
Aztraex (Faun), whom I recently found out from his boyfriend,
DarkHero18 (Kurt), had passed away in February.
Faun was a kind and loving gentleman who cared for his significant other, as well as the friends he made, and I was grateful to be one of them. We started talking in voice chats on a Discord server we shared back in 2020, and I got to know him through Kurt. I remember getting so excited to finally see him in person when I found out he would move to mine and Kurt’s home state to live with him in 2024, and that all three of us would be able to hang out together. We would still use Discord to call each other to discuss plans for what we could do each month if we all had free time. I wish we could’ve done more because the only times I did meet up with him was in October and December of that year, and he used to look so happy back then. He was also an excellent artist, and those only times I got to see him, I notice he’d bring his sketchbook with him. I remember he would sketch some of the animals we saw at a farm that was holding a harvest festival and it was so endearing to watch him observe and draw them. He was creative like that, and it broke my heart when he told me he wasn’t able to make art anymore due to his health declining since 2025. My prayers go out to his family in Texas, and to Kurt as well.
I’ll miss you deeply, Faun, and I hope we get to see each other more often in the next life.
