To be honest I'm not a big fan of drawing nawty fan art of famous characters but
I figured I'd help my friends
thewielder and
dwalker develop a possible look for there new collaboration effort.
I inked and colored a preliminary drawing by Wielder and Dwalker as an example of a possible direction they could head. Kind of grungy and scratch to match the puckish look they are giving there designs of the gargoyles. They seemed to dig it but it's all in their court as to what they do. I'm just glad they didn't tell me to F my self and mind my own busness lol
I you are interested they should be uploading more about this at their official colab account at:

I sorta like
dwalker's take on inking, honestly. He does street art, so things like the tat design and overall solidarity of his inklines on top of Forge's lineart are pretty nice compliment to each other. I don't think they want to too rough-looking, seeing as how they're gonna be appealing to a mass-audience of all tastes.

D does great work I wasn't trying to trump his work at all. As I said its a possible idea. They seemed to like it but, in the end its all their deal an they'll do whet ever they wat with it you know. Personalty I don't think they need to worry to much about mass appeal I think anything they do will go over well. I mean they already are applying to people by drawing them with there junk out, you know?
Right, but for something going up for auction (the inks), I feel like they'd sell if they were a bit more "mainstream", not too stylized. I wasn't sayin that you were trumping his work at all; I do see where you were going with the grungy look for the Punk motif, just that, to get a decent bid for the pieces, I feel like there has to be a more generally accepted appeal to the art itself; if it's too stylized, it might throw potential buyers off, yanno? :)
lol It's nice! And I'm sure it'd go a long way, but just a personal observance that it being a bit more in-tune with the lineart since it's going up for a general auction might be a better call, just to appeal to those that are more about the subject itself and might be put off by any sort of rough stylization. I could be wrong, and anything's welcome, just an opinion from my experiences and observations!
Asp sorta cropped it when he did this, most likely to draw attention to PinUpDog's project, which is pretty awesome for him to do! The actual pin-up's a bit more risque, though - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6460268

It feels a little personal, given recent events, but it's cool. The main focus was a discussion on the business aspect, not tearing anything down. I'm a fan of Asp's art, thus why I've commissioned and pushed others to.
I still feel that a more cleaner lineart might have more general appeal, that was the "mainstream" I was talking about. If it's solely advertised on FurAffinity, it's not a "niche". You are solely catering to Furries, so you have to think "What do Furries that like Brooklyn like", and bam, you look through favs and the Search engine and you find that the pics that look the most like the cartoon version of Brooklyn tends to be the top pics (the only integral use for a Fav and Pageview counter is to gauge how well a pic does, thus a valuable tool for business aspect, not ego like most seem to look at it/shun it for). This is actually pretty standard with 34; there are exceptions where somebody's improved on the model, but a lot of people are passive or even active 'purists'. It's something I see pretty much all over, not just in Furry.
I honestly didn't want this explosion to go on and everything that adds to it that seems like an attack is irritating, honestly. If you didn't mean it that way, then my bad.

He's not, but Kit and Forge are, and I want them to make as much money to pay their bills off as possible. If it were more casual and not business, I wouldn'tve spoken, but it's business, no matter how much of a niche it seems to be. It can still be possibly lucrative, yanno? It's the only reason I spoke up about it.
i do like they are not just drawing plain old famous character porn they are twisting and redesigning them so they are characters based on the famous ones but they are not actually them. It's kind of like how the Sentry from Marvel comics is supposed to be Superman but isn't Kind of a homage to the character archetype.
