maimai bandits are enemies and NPCs found only in the maimai roads of the ancient world in chapter 4. they are typically stealthy and 'mewhat kleptomaniac, as they often steal items such as food, status items, and more. they tend to ambush adventurers travelin' through these areas, stealin' their belongin's. they seem to enjoy the sap of the trees in maimai roads, which is considered sugary 'nd delicious. 'metimes they fall asleep if there are no unsuspectin' victims. they are also capable of stealin' money if they wish. their stats are 430 HP, 10 attack, 'nd 0 defence. they are dreamers with an appearance similar to that of a goblin or a small imp. most of their body is covered in pale yellow bandages, the only visible part is their face, which has yellow eyes, pointed red horns, 'nd thin legs ending in bare feet. their entire body is quite straight and geometric. they may be a dreamification/imitation of scrolls 'bout oni stories displayed in froggitland, due to their demonic appearance. in the neutral/pacifist route, most of them tend to be enemies, however, 'me can be benevolent. there is even a maimai bandit NPC who allows the player to recover discarded items if 'me were discarded by mistake or due to lack of space. these items cost 'round 10 dream dollars each. this NPC is mainly useful for recoverin' lost items or items that didn't 've enough potential to be used. 'fter defeating the titan guard, these dreamers change their ideals upon being pardoned and are taken to funky town, where they can be seen workin' at lost and found stalls. on the burnin' route, they will attack the party, 'nd due to kindton's withdrawal from the party, these dreamers can only be killed by determination on this route. 'fter bein' killed, these dreamers will be buried in the olde graveyard of funky town in the epilogue of chapter 4. their dojo fighterZ card reads as follows: type of being: dreamer. categories: bandit, kleptomaniac, dream devil, thief, oni, bandages. description: "bandits who steal from and terrorize the people of maimai road and its surroundin' areas. they tend to be narcissistic in personality 'nd speak broken english. however, they are skilled in carpentry and house construction.
