I love these costumes so much.

Thanks so much! I love them as well. We might be adding 3-4 more people to the group next year. I'd love to see this get to be near 15-20 people in the future and have our own section in the Dragon*Con parade!

I love this a lot, where'd you get the gaters/leg guards and the chest piece? They look awesome!

lol - I'm almost ashamed to tell you...but here you go....

The leg guards are actually hockey shin guards I picked up at a sporting goods store. They have nice flaps that wrap around the calf and secure with velcro. The top piece is actually a piece of plasticard which was hot glued to the top 'fabric' piece. I thought it would look weird with a fabric piece, so that's why I attached it. I then took a high-gloss black spray paint, and what you see is the final result. :)

As for the chest piece...I went to ebay and looked up 'motocross armor'. You'll get a ton of results, and I got that for $17 if I remember right. You can find great deals on them. I have to say, I'm honestly shocked how many compliments I get on the armor and people guessing I spent a couple hundred dollars on it. I almost feel embarrassed telling people how much it really cost.

But in all honesty, I was going for a thrown-together/take-what-you-can-get look where the pieces really don't look like they match.

I'm doing a full surplus uniform, with a wildgasmasks custom Doberman mask next year, but I like the touch your leg guards had as opposed to using gaters!

Lol, no worries!! And you looked just fine. I am always honestly flattered anytime someone wants a picture. I just have so much fun in the costume. Someday I hope to get a small army of them together!
