Mae's father (Ic mind you) has two very powerful swords. This is the deadlier of the two. It is called Chaos, the Deathweaver.
Just one of the many things it helps him do is to summon a whirlwind of blood that contains the weapons of enemies slain by the weapon (approx. 2150) throughout the years. Those weapons will then fight whoever they are summoned against. If Coe was not somewhat immortal, the sword would have drained him of blood by now. That is the payment it takes with each use. Each consecutive use uses more and more blood, until the user dies.

So what counts as a "use"? Is it just every time you swing it, or does it only count as a "use" when the sword is pulled from its scabbard? Does it have other uses besides summoning other weapons (and cutting people)? I can kinda see the "death" part, but where does chaos come into this equation?

Use is whenever it does one of two things: hits an opponent. Summons some chaotic thing or does some type of magic,aka uses its power to help the wielder.
It has MANY MANY uses..they all just involve...death...and destruction >.> Coeur Noir is a violent person sometimes >.>
Um...Chaos is the name. It does chaotic things, like slaughtering lots of people, causing distress whenever it is drawn, and one of the abilities that very rarely gets used, is generally the converting of nearby 'mindless' creatures, to make themselves violent and blood thirsty.
Needless to say, Coeur Noir does not get to fight many people, because he was made to do planetary scale damage if he wished. Though technically Mae could stop him, just cus she is his daughter.

Every hit then, hm? I imagine this sword wouldn't see much use in any non-immortal's hands. Though I suppose that's for the best, then. Can't have people swinging around the things willy-nilly, now can we? I guess at least this one has a nice, indicative name, so people know better than to start flailing around with it. I suppose if it were called "Chocolate Pancakeweaver" everyone would want to use it and everything would go to hell.
