Tomorrow also marks the 6th month since the March 11th Japan earthquake and tsunami. The country still has a long way to go before they can start to feel a sense of normal like the Americans can finally start to feel on the same day. Japan is still recovering, and still hurting though they are to modest to show it. Once they were our greatest enemy. Now Japan is one of our closest friends. And they continue to have our love and support for years to come.
and man it was kinda hard to come up with how I wanted to draw Japan. Their flag is just white with a red dot.. hehe not much to go on.. So i tried to add the red sun rays on her pants that they have on some Japanese flags.

Awww... I rest my case. Too bad we still have too many conservative assholes and crotchety WW2 vets in this country who still refer to fols over there as "Japs" and "zipperheads." People like my father, who believes the Japanese automobile industry is a direct threat to America's economy and status as a world power... then again, he has worked for GM for as long as I've been alive. Don't ya just hate it when folks try to give themselves a false sense of moral superiority?
I think you did a great job on getting Japan's flag on the design. Both in her dress and her hair band. I love how you did lady America here too.
Yes, it's amazing thatt years ago we were fighting them across the Pacific. Now we consider them a good close friend.
This is a wonderful depiction. <3
