Been a while since I did a new alien species. So here we have a brand new one. As always with new species I'll do a species entry and then one on the individual himself.

The Malean are a mammalian species native to the planet Malaia. Orbiting what is now a dead star Malaia is cast in constant. It's parent star having gone dark approximately twelve centuries ago. Much of the planet life on their planet died off when this happened save for those near enough the artificial structures built to keep portions of the planet warm and habitable. Many of the plants on Malaia are biolumenecent. These plants are usually chemosynthetic and emit light useful to photosynthetic plants. The Malean are adapted supremely for the dark. During the time their species arose even during the day there wasn't much in the way of sunlight. The brightest it ever got on their world was twilight levels. As a result Malean have supreme eyes and can see well in very low lighting conditions. The Malean are a very tactile species as are many mammalian species but due to a neurological ability this is even more pronounced. Malean are able to connect their minds together and share thoughts, memories, and emotion when they touch. At a distance a Malean can at least sense the presence of other lifeforms. Malean are also capable of acting as a bridge between two individuals of another species. They can also use this ability to enhance or damage a person's nervous system as well as pluck memories from another. A secondary ability related to the first is control over electricity. Malean can fire bolts of electricity of varying intensity at their foes. It is not uncommon for an entertainment event to be held during a thunder storm during which experience performers call the lightening to them and use it for various displays. Culturally the Malean are reletively open and accepting of other. Often times taking the stance of "Do as you please so long is it doesn't effect your work or the safety of others."

Ceverum is a relatively young Malean at only 20 he's not yet considered an adult considering his species can easily live to be 200 or more. Ceverum has taken an interest in history in general and even went on a field trip dig to one of the lost cities. He's fascinated by the events of the first dark days. This fascination has also led to his interest in offworlders who frequently come to their world to enjoy an isolated resort or go on an adventure in the frozen waste. Ceverum here usually works at one of these resorts during his extended school breaks and he's picked up some trends from the Sokee. He's pretty happy with his life and a decent amount of friends.
