Eastside Story

Recently, I had been reminiscing on drawings I had made on DA that are now a decade old and I struck on an idea to revisit one in particular, inspired by how the weekend after I had finished the Easter thing was suddenly raining after a good week or two of mostly mild weather. I had long established Irene hated the rainy weather where she lives, being the fitness freak that she is, in comparison to everyone around her who either loves it or is merely indifferent to the rain. I return to the same frame-up in the drawing that I previously did back in September 2016, poor Irene sulking in the rain next to her Archaeopteryx friend Andrea but this time accompanied by another friend of hers, Sherry the Qianzhousaurus in my last piece featuring Irene, as well as her brother Waldemar enjoying his time with his girlfriend (name pending). I started out drawing Sherry since she would easily be the tallest character present and steadily worked on the other characters, the background, and finally the rain droplets themselves.

Sherry's outfit I based off of the stock photo model I settled on using as reference, as it helped distinguish her further from the others. Wally and his GF I sadly kind of half-assed, trying to use a different photo I found of a couple laughing and having a good time in the rain (hence her giant left hand and his inconsistent colors).
