So this years Anthro Calendar is all about mythical creatures and my contribution this time around is the legendary monster, Catoblepas.
I really wanted to incorporate the different ideas on what Catoblepas is/can do and a big focus of that became his stare of stone! The image is just under the size of A2, created with Prisma pencils.
*How do I get my hands on this years Anthro Calendar?*
You can now preorder the Calendar from here http://www.ashalind.com/anthrocalen...../ordering.html at a discounted price until September 30th!
Remember to check out http://anthrocalendar.deviantart.com/ to see the rest of the work alongside images from previous years!

It's like Medusa crossed with the Minotaur. Wow. o: I'd seriously hate to be in those warriors' shoes.
The more I stare at this the more details pop out at me. ;A; I can't decide what I like most: the big rock explosions, the terrifying expression on the beast's face, the sad-but-hilarious legs that remain of the fighters, or the way the earth around the chain is straining to keep the monster at bay. It's all fantastic. O:
