He stalks the shadows of the room
Wanting, needing, hoping,
The urge to be with him, his mate feels it too
That thought, that flicker of hope that drives them wild,
With passion, desire and love

It fills their nights with dreams, chases the emptiness,
That black crushing doom of loneliness that bubbles up,
Through the darkest hours of the night
Filling them with a light so pure.

Hope is not the impossible dream,
Once it was, but no more
As he takes his mate for his own,
They will join as one

Their howls of pleasure will echo in the night,
Driving that great darkness from them forever,
As they build their love, a thing of beauty
More exquisite than diamonds

They lay together now,
Resting in the souls of one another,
Their time will come, but until then,
They will cherish each moment.



This isn't really a story or poem, it's just something i felt i needed to write, to express my hopes, even at times when some things may not be at their best, that there is still something worth wanting, that makes those feelings vanish, that creeping darkness turn to light...
