It feels like I keep finding tons of awesome art done in SAI these days, so I finally decided it was my turn to see what I could do. I haven't touched SAI in forever. Thanks to the nature of my setup, it's a bit of a pain for me to get it running, and then it's kind of annoying if I'm trying to multitask at all while using it.
I also learned that I might need to consider getting a new tablet sometime soon, or at least another pen for my beloved Intuos3 :C. You can kind of get around in Photoshop without good pressure sensitivity, but I've noticed that it's a lot more annoying in SAI. I don't know if it's my settings, but I'm pretty sure it's not because the pressure sensitivity works perfectly if I've rotated the pen a certain way, and sucky otherwise :[. If I do get one, I've decided it'll be the Intuos4 Medium. I'm aware of the nib issue, and I plan on getting a big screen protector. I actually HATE the textured surface. I want something smooth to draw on. I read they are more fragile than Intuos3, so any of you Intuos4 users out there want to share your experiences? (How long you've had it, how much you use it, any problems or malfunctions, etc.?)
Whooo, went off on a tangent there lol. Anyways, I did this in like 3ish hours. I don't really know what any of the brushes do, so quite a bit of that was devoted to experimenting with settings and techniques to get what I was aiming for. I got pretty close to what I wanted, though. A few more doodles and I should have it down. :3
