A simple short piece on death. After the pain, we simply move on.
Fallen
Hear the wind’s song on the plains and valleys.
Scatter cruelly the cries of sorrow and anguish.
Make sure that your loss is never kept close.
But drift ever further.
Let the spirit’s arms take you to rest in the starry sky.
But not before you hear your legend told.
There never was quite the tale so memorable
as the hero who died.
Feel the rain’s tears fall upon your lost mourners.
Crush every last hope and belief that they hold,
that the dead will come back from the void.
Eternal hope is sheer pain.
Bring the life you once lived along to rest.
Never forget who you were and who you loved.
For one day, you’ll be joined somewhere above.
Death’s but the end forward.
