Personality: Nathan possesses a very relaxed nature, prefer to just sit and watch the world go by. The only excitement he needs in his life is his music and his friends. He hates putting effort into work if it does not involve one of his passions. Despite that his combat abilities are top tier.
Physical Appearance: Nathan possesses a tough build but other than that nothing stands out about the Houndoom, and that’s just the way he likes it. He is usually seen with headphones on his head and a casual tank top with shorts that complete his ‘laid back’ attitude.
History: When Nathan was younger, he lived in Saffron City and to this day he still does. With the Fighting Dojo so close, Nathan usually found himself in the midst of expert fighting ‘mon. This gave Nathan a chance to watch and practice with excellent fighters. To compensate against his weakness to fighting moves, Nathan trained himself to understand little signs of a ‘mon’s body, finding the little muscle movements and what they would lead to. It was about then when Nathan discovered his uncanny ability to notice detail. At PCA, Nathan used his skills of observation and detail to start training himself in therapeutic techniques, such as massages and even acupuncture, which he ended up mastering in his senior year.
Contrary to his constant attendance at the Dojo, Nathan liked a slow, easy day, heading up to Route 5 to relax in the hills, maybe visit the Daycare if he was feeling up to putting up with the little ‘mon that were left there for the day. The owners enjoyed the days he would visit, for his insight was very helpful with some of the more troublesome children.
Nathan’s main source of entertainment while relaxing was his music. He was hardly ever seen without his iBall, listening to his music while he worked, traveled, rested, did homework, even while he fought at the Dojo. Nathan even started working on his own music, knowing a variety of instruments and how to play them like an expert. Usually he carried around a flute, his talent for detail making his playing so melodic to those who heard, it was easy to get into the mood that Nathan is trying to convey though his music.
At PCA, Nathan’s fighting style was solidified by Samuel, who prompted the idea of using Nathan’s music as a basis of his movements at his own leisure. This method made Nathan’s movements very unpredictable, his movements changing depending on the song and is never fixed because of the number of songs available. Nathan is usually the one to set a tempo in the fight, controlling it as he sees fit. The brilliance of the strategy is if the fight is not finished within about 3 minutes, the song will change, making all intelligence gathered on Nathan will have been all for not as he changes his style to match his music. While in a team, however, his music is used as a tempo setter for his entire team. Nathan acts as the gamemaker, shelling enemy with energy taxing attacks that would usually leave him open while he gathers or expends the energy to do so. He relies heavily on Samuel to guard him in his vulnerable state. The music he listens to dictates the pace he goes at, fast and many light attacks or slow and hard attacks, both methods have the same effect except the team follows his beats and tempo.
Both of Nathan’s parents, Simon and Lydia, work at Silph Co., neither of them ever displaying an interest in fighting, which lead to their surprise when their lax son showed an interest in the sport, even asking to attend PCA. Determined to aid their son in what he showed actual interest in, they agreed and immediately enrolled him.
