What's a glitter critter? And how come his digestive system is so different than others of his kind?

Glitter critters are a tyrannical alien species in one of my many stories, They are very loosely based off the Lisa games and from the Shakespearian quote “all that glitters is not gold” and are supposed to show a species so obsessed with physical power that they are essentially destroying themselves.

Mondo is a the direct result of the backfiring for this fight for power, He is inbred to an extreme point and despite externally seeming fine, Most of his body internally just did not develop properly (weakened almost everything).
