Some furs are lucky enough to work in the food industry and get to create some amazing things such as this delightful cake-a-saurus from the work kitchens of
nessamouse
I made a cakeasaurus at work the other day. Herp a derp. The spines are actually dark purple, didn't show up right on the camera. There are two little cupcakes inside and the rest is leftover frosting colors from when we were trying to mix a specific color for a wedding cake.
How to make your own! I'll call it a Novice recipe, the neck might be hard for beginners.
You will need:
*3 colors of frosting, a main color, an accent color, and black for the eyes claws, and snout.
*wilton tip #10 (round)
*wilton tip #2 (round)
*wilton leaf tip
*Spatula
*2 cupcakes with the paper removed
1) Place cupcakes next to each other on a cakebord or the plate you intend to serve it on. The cupcakes are going to be the dino's torso. Using your main color and tip #10, pipe the cupcakes until no cake can be seen. Pipe a small mound on top to make the arch of the dinosaurs back. Smooth slightly with a spatula.
2) Still using the main color and tip #10, Pipe the legs and feet. (Think of a fat "J.") Switch to tip #2 and black icing to pipe claws on the feet. It's tricky to do this later! Switch back to main color and tip #10 and pipe the tail and neck using a spiral motion with the wrist. The head is two large drops of frosting. You are done with the main color.
3) Using tip #2 and black icing pipe the eyes and two small drops for the snout. You are done with black. Switch to the accent color and using a #10 tip pipe polka dots on the torso. Switch to the leaf tip and pipe the spines.
