He needed a newer sketch page LOL. Something super experimental. I love this guy, and I realized I'm seriously under-utilizing him when his concept is so cool.
Anyways! This is Null, a cannibalistic shapeshifter, and one of the second batch of demons in my world. He is the absence of identity- quite literally a writhing black mass of nothing. Every demon in my story reflects how they died, Null is on the more extreme side. He can perfectly mimic any victim he's killed, but his eyes are always wrong. Too flat, or he's a bit too late with certain reactions. He can mimic aeros who are alive, but not nearly as well.
He's actually got a pretty sad backstory, but still... LOL. “Wow yk what would be great?? If I took OTHER people’s identities to find my own! Genius!”
I also wanted a bit of an excuse to draw a Panavia Tornado, since Null can technically take the form of ANY aircraft.

So... *cracking fingers*
Null was originally called Prototype 00X, and he was among the first batch of hybrid aeros made- but he was suuper malformed. Like his panels wouldn't align properly, he had difficulty speaking clearly and wasn't nearly as socially adaptable as the others, which led to him being relentlessly bullied by his squadmates. So, 00X wanted to prove himself to them, he wanted a name for himself and he wanted to show that he wasn't deadweight. So he would dream for hoursss about being named Echo instead of just being called by his designation.
Well he finally gets his chance to prove himself, right? He gets to go on a mission with his squad, which he's absolutely ecstatic about- however he ends up being tricked, ends up crashing and is left to slowly burn up alone (a totally avoidable death). In my world, if an aerosaur/aeromorph dies angry and not "at peace" they can end up stuck in purgatory where they can either eventually come to peace with what happened, or fester.
For example, another one of the demons in my world, Mayday, is an F6F Hellcat who was shot down by friendly fire and his pilot bailed on him. Cooper, an A6 Intruder was killed by his pilot mishandling his controls and leaving him to drown. Etc, etc.
Anyways, so 00X dies. And he's definitely NOT at peace lol, so he comes back. He died a "nobody", no name, case swept under the rug, no nothin'. So he's quite literally a pitch-black, writhing mass of nothing. And he's completely fixated on trying to find his own identity... which yk never existed- so he's stuck prowling, pretending, and luring victims into coming near and trusting him so that he can kill them and steal their identity. Which he then uses to lure their friends/etc closer and do the same thing. He's great at pretending, but he doesn't actually understand any of the emotional aspects, he knows the cues, how to act, but he doesn't actually know what it means or why it matters ykwim?
Anyways LOLLL yap sesh over that's kinda the big summary of Null.

"THE MIMIIIIIC"
But seriously, awesome! I can just imagine walking up on an aero only yo see the metal panels bend and warp unnaturally form the chaotic writhing underneath, hearing a pop as a bolt or two come undone, and seeing his head turn and contort to smile, Null smiling causing the face over his to come loose and slump...damn, I need to get back into writing

YESS YOU GET IT!! I tried capturing like that moment where his face just completely comes apart- you can see the little black tendrils coming out of the gaps/etc. I definitely need to write my demon characters more, they've been given short little vignettes but not full intro scenes LOL.
More aero writing!! Woo!
