Iron Artist Commission for
akula-snow of himself. Hope you like! I was eying that bow in the ref and I could not help myself to make something so awesome!
EDIT: After some archer-no0b errors were pointed out, I updated the image to reflect the proper holding of a bow. It is not perfect, for there is some things I would have changed else where in the image back in the sketching stage to balance out what I chanced, but at this point it was beyond cosmetic. Thanks, Reese, for having an eagle eye!

not so much good refs exactly, but...
the hands are holding the right parts, for the most part, the arrow is in the wrong position, it should be resting on top of the hand or an arrow rest on the other side of the bow stave (though it appears some oriental archery styles do put the arrow on the outside side)
The hand on the string should be drawing the string and minimizing contact with the arrow shaft
here are a couple pictures from wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Brazilarcher.jpg
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ArcheryGermanyEarly1980s-2.jpg
the first pic has a bow with a more similar style to the one in the picture, the second shows an archer with a modern bow (unfortunately, the other archers in the foreground and background make it really busy and difficult to see well)
I'm afraid that the handsome snow leopard there will have the arrow not fly at best, and will more likely get a hand full of splinters or worse when he lets go of the string
