I finally found a voice for Roquefort. There's an old Looney Tunes cartoon, "Quentin Quail," where the father bird is trying to catch a worm for his petulant daughter, Toots, to eat for breakfast. The cartoon was based on the radio show "Baby Snooks," with Fanny Brice playing the child. Snooks was a precocious child, like Dennis the Menace or Calvin, but she wasn't malicious, just...mischievous. I intended Roquefort to say, "Hello, Pumpkin" but after watching the quail cartoon, the child-voice "Hallo, Daddy!" just sounded like Baby Snooks to me, and things fell into place...
