In Mystery Dungeon, you tend to run into a lot of enemies. And while HP heals naturally, your PP isn’t so easily recovered. As such, “simple” moves like Quick Attack and Rapid Spin are recommended, especially moves that don’t have many resistances, like Dark and Normal.
You definitely want moves you can spam a lot, before you start to Struggle…
