Twilight is the cat that just sits by the window all day watching everything.
Rainbow Dash is the cat that gets into fights with every single other cat within a 10 mile radius.
Fluttershy is the cat that hides under everything, and runs out of the room the moment anything approaches.
Rarity is the cat that spends 20 minutes making sure the litter box is PERFECT.
Applejack is the cat that is always climbing things, but somehow manages to get down the moment you turn away.
And of course, Pinkie Pie is the cat who is hyperactive and always wants to be pet, going so far as to intruding upon one's 'personal space' to do so.

.. that's my interpretations of 'em as kitties, anyways!

I've thought one of the reasons that MLP:FiM is so successful is that their pony design already looks very cat-like as well as neotectic, and that their ponies move like cats more than they move like ponies. Dash stalking in the first episode, and a bunch of the other things they do, seem feline.
