Inspired by Enya's song, "Storms in Africa," and dedicated to
rew who loves marozi's. A marozi is a real animal, by the way, and is a cross between a lion and a leopard. Granted, these generally are not the colors of a marozi. Anyways, I've been working on this for 3-4 weeks now between commissions while waiting on customers to reply and on my "commission day off," which is Sunday, and which is why it took me so freaking long to do. x.x That mane...those spots... gah. Took me forever to paint!

impressive. you can tell he's determined. i wonder who he is hunting in the rainy season.
his spots look a bit like there was also a serval involved, but since they are not drawn from real animals, so there.
the details are almost too much to tell apart, everything works together.
hm, since lions and leopards are enemies by trade and nature i guess the mating process to create a mix of them both must look like WW2.

I'm really liking this look. You've transitioned away from outlies here and the ones you do have are very subdued.
I think with your rich and 3D painting style, getting rid of outlines would make your work so much more powerful and very full and life-like, like this peice here. ^.^
Very nice.
