This character is Varda, he's a Valka which is a species created by my friend Squall179 over at deviantART.

The idea for this character came from playing Champions Online; Squall had build a few of his Valka characters in-game so I thought it would be fun to try my hand at one as well. In-game, his look isn't perfect, but I think it works, but at some point I decided that it was time to try my hand at drawing him and how he should properly look.

Varda is primarily an engineer/gadgeteer/tinkerer; he has a lot of knowledge about computers, engines and such, but he's pretty good in a fight as well. He managed to build his own defensive armor there and he wields two pistols and two swords as his primary weapons.

Var was part of Clan Fulgrymm, but since rivalries between valka clans can be very harsh and large, he was separated from his clan.
With no way to reach the clan, he became a freelancer and did some help on board many starships in exchange for money and/or passage to other systems. However, the last ship he was on was attacked by pirates and he ended up getting captured. The pirates had intended to sell him off to slavers, but the pirate ship was attacked and he managed to escape into an escape pod and crash landed on Earth.

Overall, I'm happy with how this turned out; I think this is only the second time I've drawn a valka and I kept his look simple, but close to his in-game look.
I think the shading on the guns could be better though, might tinker with that later.
