Crochet Galaxy Stitch Scarf + Hat with Long Ear Flaps
posted 14 years ago Digital Artist
And buttons!
And pompoms!
This hat was made with a galaxy stitch and a type of Lion Brand Yarn called Wool-Ease. The colors are sage, burgundy, and fisherman white! The yarn is spun together with a combination of lamb's wool and acrylic. It's super soft, cozy, and warm - not scratchy at all like you would get from normal wool. The acrylic gives the yard a bit of strength so it's machine washable and easy to care for.
This is the first time I've ever made a hat with long ear flaps! I think next time for this style I'll make them first then attach them to the hat, rather them making them while attached to the hat. It'll make things easier. Also wanted to add some large natural wood buttons to this, but couldn't find them in the house, so I decorated the front flap with what I could find. C:
This hat was fun to make! Only took me a couple of hours. I'll be wearing it a lot this winter~! <3
