A very unique idea, and very interesting.
The only thing I can think that's really 'wrong' or needs some thought is the general size of it, if it's kilometers in length, and earthbound, it'll do some major damage to natural and unnatural structures (Mountains, fields, cities, etc.) simply by 'walking' over the planet...
