My partner Melissa and I did a bit of shopping last weekend and this is one of the things we bought - a 1953 Henry J Corsair with (I kid you not) 25,000 original miles on it. We're only the third owners; the last owner repainted it, recovered the seats (in the correct Dinosaur Vinyl!) and redid the brakes, but everything else is original, even the Jeep motor with the Kaiser cylinder head.
Why? Because we were tired of driving the vintage drag cars on the street, that's why. 10mpg? Leaded premium? I don't think so, Tim...

Nice! Your lucky to have a cool car like that tho cruse in I use to have a 1981 Pontiac Grand Prix Me my dad and my uncal built a Chevy HO 305 V8 for it. The engine was out of a Chevy pick up truck. We rebuilt the heads worked them some. the crank and cylinders were like new. Put a Crane Race Came in it Gear drive Cam gears. I bought some hooker headers full length and had duals with glass packs custom made by a local muffler shop. Had a stock quadra jet carb that my dads friend rebuild and tuned. the engine was painted lime green with chrome and bright orange accents. The wheels were cool race looking chrome and black steelys with BF Goodrich white letter radials I had that the senior year of high school. It haled ass I was always doing burn outs and showing off It sounded wicked The harmonics on the inside at 120mph from the headers feel like sex LOL Ill half to show a pic to you some day I look forward to seeing your new car looks very nice *Hugs*
