A long time ago, I had an old character. He was a pudgy tinkerer, wanderer, and purveyor of things unusual that ticked and tocked. Over time the image and idea of that character changed.

I recently thought of a new name for him, one which I like far more than the original. Rutherford, which I think is a good name for a wolverine. He's still a tinkerer, along with being a skilled woodsman. He only has limited magic abilities; these are mostly related to helping things grow, and bringing things to life.

He's been a fun character to draw; pudgy, cheerful, squarish build, with long fur and claws like a wolverine should have. In a chat with a couple friends, I envisioned him having a voice that's a mix of John Goodman's tone, and Sean Connery's gravel, without the accent. I think I'll likely draw some more of him down the road. :)
