Just a sketch of one of the rarer groups of Maldoon, the desert dwelling Celshear, noted for their distrust of outsiders, their oddly spiral shaped shells (a subspecies of the more common Maldoon - interbreeding is possible, but very uncommon, and results in low fertility rates and sometimes malformed shells).

Riding atop his Gimat Gora'a (superficially resembling a giant yellow-orange anteater), he can command a long view of the wastes of the Nurseries of Dust, the mysterious 'haunted' region other Maldoon cannot figure out how the Celshear survive in what to them seems like an oven.

Gimat Gora'a like the desert camels of earth, provide mounts, pack animials, milk (which is both fermented and used in a rather strong cheese-like yogurt), and in dire emergencies, meat for the Calshear clans. Additionally, their long, coarse hair can be woven into blankets and rugs and knot-wool artwork (sculptures and valley shade-tarps), and their hides can be cleaned and cured and used for leather.

City Maldoon marvel that such creatures are even tame, and that the Calshear are able to ride them, mount them with such ease using tricky handholds in the tackle and a winch-like bellystrap wrapped around the Gorat Gora'a.
