I used Logic Pro 9 as my DAW to record the audio and midi, arrange, mix and master.
Most all the instruments where Midi files I mixed around, the piano was all me though ;)
I have knowledge in Music Theory so that really helps.

I love, love stuff like this for mysterious scenes. I have no idea why it works, as well as it does, but it does. x3 Your piano playing is brilliant, as is your drumming. That's really difficult to do! @_@

I think Jazz can add a lot of unknown qualities to a scene like mystery, suspense or suaveness. I thought maybe this could be bgm to one of your game ideas, my main influence was from the Persona series though :)

Aww thank you so much but I didn't "play" the drums live. I mapped out the beats for a drum VST called Superior Drummer 2 and it also gave me tips for fills and breaks in te beat. I did do all the piano playing though so thank you ^^ Wasn't too hard, just jazzed up a C scale x3

Patterns're pretty neat! The VST I have doesn't do those, so I play all the tracks in my stuff live, 'cept when I use loops to augment the live stuff. Patterns'd probably be a really nice middleground. I might have to look into that particular VST! Your pianoing is awesome forever. ♥

What might make your job a little easier is using midi drum files! They can be a little pricey, most pros like Toontrack sell 450 files for $30 and you can use them with a drum VST. There are free ones out there too for basic rock or pop patterns, the ones I used here where all free so not too bad for cheapo ones huh? XD

Naww that's a natural feeling for composers, wanting to make all your sounds by hand. I'm terrible at drums so I kind of need a drum machine or I'm screwed. One cool thing to do is try and play back the loop and make it MIDI and alter it around. I guess I'm more of a music arranger and mixer cause I'm good at changing and messing around with pre-made beats. I'm still learning Music Theory to get better at composing beats >_<

Glad you enjoyed it and awesome your the only one who noticed the maracas! (They're actually African canisters filled with wooden beads, I forget the name but I got it from a exotic loop filled with odd foreign sounds).

I was thinking of a theme for a character who's aloof and mysterious but also has a sexy, hip nature to him I.e. Probably some fox xP

Yeah, superior drummer is a beast, it really blows other drum VST's out of the water. It has a bunch templates to use as well. I'm good at arranging and making the snare and kick but I suck at hi-hat and cymbals so it's alot of help to get basic templates to play by. And yeah I liked the dadas samlple alot so I threw it into my song at the last part :3

are the piano parts from Apple loops?

The piano part is inspired by apple loops. I played over it myself with the piano but the original melody was from Apple, just from my interpretation. The vocal parts are straight up apple loops cause ya know, I don't have a trio of background singing women at my house xD
