Asheru's Journey Part 4 Page 7
People have been asking about the back story for Asheru and My lupines. So far I haven't posted it, as they stories were collected in the 'Zine "Huzzah!" which ceased publication in 2003. I do not have any of the original digital files, so I deferred posting anything. But since coming to FA, I have received numerous requests, I decided I could probably post scans of the original Zine pages, One may recognize some of the original images in my old Yerf Archive. others in ArtSpots but many were sketches and only appeared as spot illustrations.
Part 4 appeared in Huzzah! Number 49, which was the last publicly available issue before it ceased publication (there as a member's only Issue 50). This is where the story stopped. Stopped, not ended, as I could not figure out some issues with the plot and the nature of the "threat", or what it was, so it remains a setting, with no resolution. "that's all, Folks!"

No c;lue if it will ever restart, it's been a decade. it's some story problems that need to be overcome. I know how it ends. just that middle part that is a problem. We'll see what happens, The background works, the cultures work, maybe find a different line of narrative. different characters.
Oh thats a bugger; knowing the end of the story (or at least, the end you want the most), but you dont know how to get there. Thats mothballed a bunch of my own projects: you cant really force these kind of stories too much. I found that working backwards from the ending concept helps, but it still leaves gaps and makes the story structure unstable (since your, well, going backwards).
Anyways, this was a wonderful comic/story, and while you may not continue on this particular story, I look forward to seeing more of your work.

A story with such massive potential.
I can't help but be reminded of an artist called Tracy Butler, she's created one of my favourite series called Lackadaisy, I think she has even started selling an actual paper book version of it. The Asheru series reminds me of this except less cutsy and over the top.

The art of your story were my very first findings as I explore the internet for the first time about therians. Since this time I carry your lupines around with me. They inspired me to draw lupine therians for my own... well, lond time ago ^^°
I'm happy to see the full story now. Its not easy to catch it only with the pictures ;)

I just read through all the parts, and I must say, it was all enjoyable. Very interesting characters and genre, with good illustrations to compliment. A good story universe like this would never have caught my eye without them, so kudus! Perhaps we'll see how this goes on and ends someday. I do.
Wandered here after seeing Weilder's artwork with Magnus and Asheru... found a great start and solid build up... I realise it probably frustrates you, as much as us, that you have a story to tell but have hit the proverbial brick wall in it.... I know you mentioned a possible decade to get it back on the road (jest in response to prods, I know) but hope it may happen earlier... may the proverbial lightning strike of inspiration strike you one day soon, sir!
In the meantime I shall wander your large gallery which holds so much more great work, some of which which I have been sidetracked by on the way to finding this.
