This is Mijumaru from the latest generation of Pokemon.
Several months back, a customer of mine requested an amigurumi version of them. Mijumaru being one of my favorite animals ever(Otter? why yes please!) I was giddy to work on it.
Little did I know how many versions I'd try, or the number of obstacles that would pop up.
This was the first time I really utilized fabric detailing(the eyes and mouth) and I really like how it is. I suspect to be using more fabric detailing in the future.

That's so cool! ^.^ I chose Oshawott as one of my starters (I bought both games; I chose Tepig in the other). I've wanted to try amigurumi, but the book I got is American -- we use UK terminology, so converting the patterns is a bit tricky -- , and they usually require a lot of different colours.
At first, I didn't realise Oshawott was an otter in terms of animal, but I figured so once I looked into it.
Still, having Pikachu being my #1 favorite, right now, Oshawott is #2, while Dewott [its evolution] is ranked #5, with Lucario in #3 and Mew in #4.
I have never played the games, but I've seen Oshawott in action with Satoshi [Ash] in the series, and I think it's cute.
