A "character" that's resided in my creative mind for some time now. Something you wouldn't want to encounter in a dark alley. Describing this beasty is a little hard at the moment (plus it's also past 2am, sleeeeepy)... I'll update this info box with details on this species, especially if anyone has any questions. For now:

What does it look like?: A roiling mass of dark inky/oily shadows, its body is shapeless and chaotic. It's "facial" features can change randomly. Swirls of dark smokey shadows constantly peel and reform on its 'body'. The Amorphous does tend to have a second upper jaw of fangs that can move back and forward. The tongue is multiple sleeved - the long slender part of the tongue is prehensile and often used as a snare or lure, the middle fleshy section is what produces its vibrating hisses, the end sheath is for retracting the tongue fully back when it is devouring large prey.

What does it sound like: Multiple gentle hisses and quiet sshhh's, like a rustling sound. Mouth makes an audible vibrating hiss.

Where does it make rest: The Amorphous prefers cool, dark places. It will tolerate warm or bright places with disdain though.

What does it eat: Pretty much anything - plant, mineral, animal, if it's tasty or tolerable, it's going down the hatch!

Can it be killed?: Of course, exposure to extreme temperatures, toxic poisons, viral infections and just plain being shot with guns or stabbed with sharp pointy things will send the aberration packing.
