'Eh. It's not really. I know a lot of bdsm places use it, but it's actually fun to play with, and you can get it in a bunch of colors. It's neat because you paint it on, it dries darker, then you can peel it off like hardened elmer's glue - just gotta make sure you shave first, 'cause it sticks to the hair.
