I like Applejack because she seems to take her work, as a business, pretty seriously. This can also be applied to Rarity, so if I do another one of these, it may be about her. Anyway, this image was sitting around for a while in various stages of completion. Every time I tried to focus on what I was -supposed- to be working on, this image would be sitting in my mind, tempting me to finish it.
I applied more traditional proportions here, instead of the usual cartoony proportions I default to. She took up almost the entire length of an 11x17 piece of bristol paper when I was drawing her in front of the television in my spare time.

Holy guaccamole..... Jesus Christ man, how can you even mention ... ugh "shivers" STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE, to MLP? Strawberry Shortcake is from hell...
Now Jay Naylor, you are well aware I am a huge fan of yours, so that´s why I have to ask, any chances of us seeing a Pony Design drawing by you? I´d love to see how they would look in the classic Naylor style!

I must say, damn good stuff sir. You seem to take to traditional proportions very well, and still manage to preserve the usual smoothness and movement of your more cartoony stuff. I think it would be a treat to see more experimentation in the future. If this is any indication, you seem to be more versatile than I expected.
I am not a fan of mlp, though there a few (far and from apart) pictures I like, but this one...
This one blew my mind. I agree with what skyen said about the face being identical to other characters of yours, but I do not care, for this is probably the first mlp related picture, I can proudly fave due to the level of awesomeness you brought to the character.
Keep up the fantastic work.

I've always had a question about Applejack's business sense though. ^^
Is it REALLY a good idea to sell her products at such a lavish event like the Grand Galloping Gala, and even as I'm typing this I realize what a "pony" I've become and so I withdraw the question and slink away quietly, blushing.

Well Fluttershy money to go to the spa doesn't come from nowhere. She has a hen-house, so she could life from the sell of this eggs. She hosting swarms of bird and she is good at sewing, so she could make pillow with the old feathers and get her money from it. She is maybe also a ranger, paid to take care of the animals.
Every single time you draw a MLP picture, it pretty much verifies the show for me. I mean if Jay F**king Naylor himself is drawing Apple Jack, Rainbow Dash, Big Mac and Zecora, then this just got serious. As a viewer of art, every picture you draw is amazing, well detailed, clean, and just over all divine. As a fan of previous works of yours, I rank this as (if not the) one of my favorite of the bunch. As a Brony, seeing this pretty much makes my day, seeing as how an amazing show can have such amazing fan art of it. As all three, there is only one possible reaction I can have. Pure. Absolute. Bliss.
tl;dr: SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE JAYNAY DRAWDED MY LITTLE PONEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, good. Looks like AJ finally made enough green to repair the roof, get Big Macintosh a new plow, and maybe even fix up Granny Smith's hip.
I'd certainly be interested in a drawing of Rarity. I'm never one to deny a little more love for the magnificent mare who represents the Element of Generosity.

I am not a fan of the MLP insanity that goes around nowadays. (Could have swore they died out with He-man all those years ago)
However... since it brought you to the idea of drawing this... I can respect it a little more now. Fantastic humanized Applejack, good sir. I can see why her apples made such a profit.

Applejack rates pretty high on my list because of her farm and general attitude. Especially after growing up on a farm I know how much of a pain in the royal ass that it is. If weather, pests, fungus, or land development don't annihilate your crops first it's getting mauled by a farm animal and/or machinery! Not to downplay Rarity in the regard, small buis is hard to successfully do and stressful often, even if some not as likely to chew on you physically as farm labor.
Also, I think Applejack and Rainbow Dash are my favorite when you humanize, fits close to the ideal in my head when I did it in general imagination. Also rather like this particular style for it.
