actually itched more than hurt for me when I got my tattoo. The only time it did start to hurt was when they were digging into the more muscly parts of my shoulder, and even then it only felt like that dull achy feeling you get when your running a fever or have the flu. (I got a big chaos symbol)

haha yea my first tattoo was as big as my hand on my right shoulder, full color of 5 hues. And the itch was SO UNBEARABLE. Sleeping wasnt gonna happen! And it did ache but I was more amused watching all the blood go down my arm, and then plasma

I actually passed out and slept just fine after mine. The waking up and forgetting that I had gotten it done the night before kinda sucked though. (I stretched like I normally would and the sore muscles protested)xD I am just sad that since I wasn't able to reach all of mine when it came time to keep up with the lotion and I oozed a LOT of ink I have to retouch it :C

for me the only times that it "hurts" is when they first start in a session, or if we need to go over an area that was worked on specifically that day :)

but still, amazing job your guy did! much better than some stuff I've seen. :)

You can really only get so close to an original drawing when it comes to realistic pieces like that. ^^;

for the most part it's really good, especially the smooth gradients, it's just I think a little more definition in the head would have helped, heh. far better than anything I could do, so I'll shut up XD

I don't mean to troll, but there are definitely artists who could have even done better than the original drawing.

I was trying to make it so that the tat artist would be able to actually do the design. I have been told (by tat artists) that it would be almost impossible for them to put most of my work onto flesh. This is why I chose to make it a bit more simple. Easier for the other artist to follow, yet still hold reality in mind.

I do however agree that there are some great tat artists out there, and they can do picture quality realism, but you end up paying out the butt for it. XD

I think the eyes were set up a little too high. But ah well the rest of it looks amazing :D The detailing looks amazing, and for 4 hours I'm surprised you're not bloodied up from the needle.

Honestly, the only part about this I like is the rock. There are other people who can do far better, especially on the face. I always get sad when I see a tattoo that should look so much better. </3

I'm not trying to be a hater, because I think that the original art was quite lovely but I do say that I have to agree that perhaps a better artist could have been chosen. There are definitely some issues around the eye area that look absolutely nothing like what the original looks like. :/ Sometimes going with a cheaper artist in these cases isn't always the best because this is, after all, something that's going to be on your body forever.

Actually, on further looking at it what really seems to throw the whole thing off is the ears look like they were added in as an afterthought. :/

the face looks really flat or like its melting :[ as an ex tattoo artist it looks like the hand wasnt very steady as the lines are inconsistent. And a lot of definition in the shoulders and paws were left out. Sadly there isnt much to be done at this point but fill in the face with more markings. But as long as you are happy with it thats all that matters.

The wings are really pretty though!

the head looks strange to me, but it is a beautiful picture and makes a lovely tattoo

Hmm...this is definitely not a great interpretation. Looks like the tattooist is just not good with animals (a lot aren't - just look at most of the tattooist-drawn animal flash) and you'll need someone else to try and fix it. Not sure you can cure the eye being misplaced, but the eyes are kinda wrong on the original too.

I hope you can get it sorted. :)

I'm thinking the weirdness in the eyes has more to do with the lack of definition in the brow/forehead area. The forehead looks flattened out in this version, and then you've got the batman ears... x_x

The back end looks squished as well, which doesn't help anything. :-/

It came out amazing but the ummm face is uhhhh idk, but I would advise a touch up !!
